Will you not sin?: Yes! Why do you want to be in this elite group?: To promote the moral values that this group holds. These values should naturally be a part of every self-respective human being. People should be encouraged to act in the best interests of the community. What goes around comes around. This statement has a lot more meaning to it than just the words. I have personally experienced the effect of this statement. What will you do as a Goblin?: Respect the Group's Creed. Set a good example with my own behavior. Do you agree to the rules?: Yes! Other: I did not apply to this group to become a mini-mod or a server police. To do this is not at all in my interest, for this we have staff that I am sure will try it's best to not give any ground to trolls or other irresponsible and disrespectful behavior. Applying to become a member, I am making a statement that I will not tolerate any trolling, scamming, cheating or hacking, and the people involved in these activities. Same thing, I think we did not start well with @Dr_Dragon_Slayer I replied to one of his posts in a scam thread rather aggressively (where you claimed it's a persons own fault if he gets scammed). Luckily my post was removed by the staff, and now I know that Dragon's heart is in the right place!
I am not active in game, and I feel as though my ghost still roaming the forums is suitable. Hehe. Hm... troll. Trolling, in my opinion, is anything that would make somebody feel relatively bad about themselves. Let me give an example that I hope could clarify this. You tell somebody that they're as dumb as a rock and then just go around telling everybody about it. You know that that person doesn't like to be called stupid, and you are exploiting that. Being a troll is being not nice and specifically intentioned on trying to aggrovate or hurt somebody. Now what wouldn't be a troll is putting down your opinion. Even if you have a downright negative opinion, you are okay to post. There's this line that you just can't pass. I could post my opinion, but if I start slandering somebody outright and keep doing it... it just isn't nice. Have I skirted the edge of 'trolldom' myself? I believe not. I do know that I have been banned only once, which was advertising. Yes, I feel badly on what I did, but I feel as though my actions didn't effect anybody negatively. I do believe that being a troll can be put in the eyes of the beholder in some cases. I really think that all my posts on the internet have some sort of value on them, whether is be constructive or humorous. There's also sarcasm... which I'm reaaally bad at. Hehe. Eh, I sorta put members/players as staff. Yes, they are the authority but they need to realize they're still players. Then again, I see your point. I'll muse over this for awhile! @BuyLowSeIIHigh @Slayer_boy_2000 We've been on bad terms? That sure is news to me! And I love aggressiveness... if you can handle mine I can surely handle yours! As long as it's in the right place!
Oh and I'll probably be defining the sins and other rules a bit more clearly once I make the official thread. Maybe I'll wait till I get members and I'll ask all them too. Right now they're a tad bit vague due to the fact that I wanted to get this up ASAP.
We could for example make a trade agreement, where we agree not to do any business with users who do not know how to behave. If we get more and stronger members in this group, this agreement could actually make a difference. And I think one thing we should always consider, is 'Not guilty until proven'. There is a lot of rumors around here of some players hacking and doing this and that. We should not take these accusations seriously, until proven.
That sounds like a great idea! When we start making the official thread, we'll need to write all this stuff down. I'm also going to say, for anyone that doesn't know already, that I don't care about the past. We're talking the present. If you've been banned fifty million times (which nowadays is possible) then you might not be accepted. But tiny things that you've done... well we're willing to accept you!
I will use this thread to throw in some ideas, if that's ok with you. We can go over them later, and in more detail. This would be more of a beneficial add-on. Because this is a group that honors good behavior, we should be taking good care of each other inside the group, and take every scam, or a scam attempt, against members very seriously. We could make a small membership fee, and all the monies would be pooled into a recovery fund. So that if a members falls for scamming, the group will be with him in this matter, and help him get back on track. With this suggestion though, we must be very aware that evil minds can send their alts into this group, scam them, take our money and leave. So complete trust inside the group is required, and probably every case should be valued separately. Also, scam/troll/etc attempts against members of this group will be the highest expression of disobedience of the good behavior morals. Not only should we put heavy sanctions on the villain, but further inside action may be taken. What exactly, can be discussed privately
i show high interest in this group and what it stands for. sadly in my opinion it carries a cult/religious vibe so i cannot join. but i would like to wish you all the best and hope this group does great things on ECC.
No religion at all. It's really all about keeping the server going well and making it feel more welcome. You could say it's a 'positive climate' committee. I don't know how religion/cult got into your head, and if I could reword it to help you out I'll be welcome to!
the words repent and sin are usually associated with religion, along with wording makes feel very cult/religious. i know it wasnt the intention but your rules and its wording feels too serious for what your trying to achiev.
I'm kind of interested in joining this, as I myself hold myself to these types of ideals and always look for like-minded people. I'm just afraid to join something because I'm usually very shy and antisocial and also I'm not sure how this kind of thing would work, how we would interact, etc. I'll think about joining...
We're going to be pretty... low activity. If I think of something we'll do it; but if you don't want to it's perfectly fine. This is also like a pledge, a pledge saying you won't scam, hack, etc.
