I have been recently looking through ban appeals and complaints and I have seen so many that have had pointless comments written on them, for instance ArisenBatman's appeal. While I'm sure peoplewould like to talk to the player, their appeal/complaint is not the place to do it. There are countless warnings given out, but it dosent seem to deter people, including presidents+ who should know the rules. To stop this I suggest that the appeals and complaints are automatically locked, but staff still have the power to reply (which I believe is the case anyway). If someone had additional evidence or something to say, they could forum PM a staff member with it. In the case that a rule has not be quoted, the original thread creator would have the power to edit his/hers first post, but not reply. I hope this is implemented in someway, as I am sick of people saying pointless things on someones complaint. The person wants to hear what the staff member who is dealing with it and not someone trolling their thread etc. There could be a warning on the Rules sticky thread saying you cannot reply to your appeal/complaint, so dont mess it up. This could be implemented on either ban appeals, or ban appeals and complaints. I will put a poll up above. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think. Taylor
I understand what you are suggesting and tend to agree except for the fact that we have rules in place and when they are enforced this will not be a problem any more. One of the mods had mentioned that the report link works well and I have used it and have found it to quite effective. Posts deleted and warnings are happening more and more every day. We can work together (no way staff can do everything) and eliminate this issue, imho. I do wish the warning system could be tweaked since these commenters seem to know the exact system and how to beat it.
We just very recently changed our policy regarding issuing forum warnings in that section - it should help with the problem, we shall see.
Thank you for sharing that with us - I was confident that this would be addressed when possible. A server this size is kind of like a ship sometimes - it can be a little overwhelming trying to turn or stop it
As Nicit has already said, we have adjusted our policy to try and combat this issue. If you are still seeing the same issue in a few weeks time, please don't hesitate to suggest ways we could improve. (Just please give us some time to adjust to the new changes and hopefully we will see some improvements )
