TheArena: Builder Town! *IMPORTANT* **************************************************************************************************************** This thread is only for information about TheArena’s Builder Town project. The rules for the town will be listed here as well as the project’s description and features. If you are a Builder and would like to apply and agree to the Town Rules please visit this thread Residents may also apply but may not always get their applications accepted. I accept suggestions, opinions, etc in the comments of this thread. **************************************************************************************************************** ** This project aims to increase the amount of Builders that stay in ECC, helping the server grow in size. It’s an important and quite demanding project so I’m taking the liberty to ask for donations. We need several things to keep this town up and running, mainly materials. If you would like to donate please take a look at the “Want to donate?” section.** What is TheArena: Builder Town project? Spoiler This is aimed to be a self-sustained town. Meaning that any “profit” made from it will go directly to the town itself to increase its quality and features. I’m not planning on gaining anything from this for myself, but for all of us. The main goal is to provide a high quality, solid starting point for the new players joining our server, Builders. If we can give them a good starting point, where they’ll learn what the server is about (working for your money to be able to rise in our server), we can increase the amount of Builders joining and staying in the server. I will provide jobs within the town, a farm, a shop, etc. So they can earn their Resident/Mayor rank. The jobs will, hopefully, be within the town for it to grow, same as the shop. The shop will buy and sell. It will buy at a higher value than Server value, and sell for a small profit (higher than the Buy value). Want to donate?: Spoiler Would you like to donate to the project? Depending on how successful this project is, I might be giving some rewards to major donators (If possible, I don’t guarantee this). We are in need of: - Cooking pots construction/refills - Stained Glass!! (I'm marking the streets and different colours help for navigation) - Blocks in general. I'm putting a cheap Shop in the town for Builders to have access to a vast amount of varied material. The idea is that they will still have to pay for it so that they know they have to work to complete their goals, not just ask for donations and get things for free. - Diamonds (tools for sale) - Farm materials (water, seeds, jungle wood, etc) - I might be missing something, if I think of something else I'll add it here but please feel free to donate whatever you may think would be a contribution to this project. Basic explanation of town system: Spoiler - You will be given a FREE 10x10 plot, access to a farm and other features. - You can stay as long as you may need to rank up. You may apply for jobs within the town (as well as outside of it of course!). - Once you become [Mayor] you will have to leave the town to allow for other people join. I will keep a public Board with the name of my Graduated resident =). I will try to keep track of you rank as you progress in the server. If I haven’t updated your rank to this Board please pm me. It will depend on the availability of plots and your application. ** Rules ** Spoiler Town rules **These rules are in no particular order, so you are required to read them all** - NO GRIEFING allowed. - 7 day inactivity rule (from Server Rules, here) applies. Meaning that after 7 days of inactivity you will be evicted and your locks will be LWCed (a.k.a. removed). - Once you become [Mayor] you will be asked to leave the town with a 3-day-warn notice via one or more of these methods: /mail, in-game message, forum PM, sign in your plot. Along with this you will be asked to take you’re your belongings and to unlock your chests (remember to empty them!). After the 3 days have passed you will be evicted and if any locks remain in place, an LWC removal request will be filed. - When farming you must replant. Failing to do so will result in a town warning. Maximum of 2 infractions of this rule. On the 2nd infraction (not replanting for a 2nd time) you will be evicted immediately due to Town Rule infraction. This rule is severe because takes a lot of work to replant - You are required to keep up with the News Board at the town. In case the rules are ever edited/changed, I’ll leave a sign there with the date of the change and you will be required to Agree once again to the town rules. Failing to do so within 3 days of the date posted in the sign and in the rules thread will result in eviction (with 3 days to remove your belongings). This is unlikely to happen, as I’m not planning on changing the rules. But it could happen and it’s your responsibility to stay up to date with the News Board. Don’t worry, I don’t think critical information (that may result in an infraction from your part or even eviction) will be added too often. - You may not post News nor Job offers in the News Board and Jobs Board ran by the town Owners. You may, however, use the publics News and Jobs Board for that. Any transactions/jobs resulting from these Boards will be your responsibility and you should file a Contract if needed and take your own evidence to prove the existence of an agreement (or disagreement) to a job, trade transaction etc. The Server Rules predominate here. Regarding public Boards: Any troll signs will be removed ASAP and investigated (to see who placed it). The person will receive a town warning, on the 3rd warning the person will be evicted immediately with no previous notice for the eviction. Trolls signs include, but are not limited to, fake job offers, news not relevant to the server/town (example: I just woke up), etc. Any signs that are deemed not relevant to the Board will be removed. - You can only build within your 10x10 plot. You may not build over or pass the smooth Stone Slabs that define your plot. The 10x10 area is what’s inside the square; in other words, the Stone Slabs are out of your 10x10 area. - You cannot build personal farms in your plot. Small farms are allowed only for decoration purposes. - Remember, these rules apply within the town. At the same time, Server Rules also apply and will be enforced. Remember, these rules may change and you will be required to agree to them again when they do as long as you are a member of the town. Failing to do so will result in eviction (explained in town Rules). Features: Spoiler TheArena aims to be the best kickstarter possible for Builders. We will constantly be in the lookout for new features to be added, for now they are: - Farm: Growing farm! Aiming to be a 200 long and about 20-40 wide, multi-floor farm. Different crops. New players like variety and so we have different types of crops in our farm. - FREE 10x10 plot - Cheap shop with: Tools Blocks to build your house! Food – Who likes baked potatoes? I know I do - Cooking pots - Free services from RailefBear Water Tp ExtCreations (Lift up/down signs, Bridges, Gates, etc). *Important* - These features are applicable as long are you are member of the town. When you “Graduate” you’ll lose all these privileges. People that live here are welcome to stay as much as they want, but as soon as they rank up to [Mayor] they will be asked to leave the town to leave space for new Builders to join. They can leave earlier if they want to too, of course. I will have a board where I’ll list the people who have “Graduated” from this town with their current ranks. Just to see how far they have made it. This will also help to track the success of this project. If we have a lot of “graduates” it means it’s working…right? I have to agree I'm in the process of moving stuff that is why I am lacking in town presence but I am still around just so you know. It's shaping up well though. I like the way it looks.
So you guys know I am offering to any builders of this town perms to a 200x200x2 multi crop farm! It is growing and only costs 3.5k!
@FuryFudge it is not. There are other Builder Towns older than this one. I got to know that after making mine though. I don't know how successful they are so I don't have a reference point but so far this one is working quite well!
Honestly, we dont really need money It's materials we need the most and tools for them (I give them a full set of diamond tools). Money is used to purchase this. Whatever is more comfortable for you, and thank you in advance!

One thing if your goal is to get builders to stay. Be careful with the lwcs I was a builder then someone did it to me. I quit for months.
