Yes hello everyone and welcome to the second edition of the ECC blog! *Bows to applause* Now I know that in the last ECC blog I had a poll that asked whether you all would like the second edition of the ECC blog to be delayed but with better content, or to have it at the same time as before but with the same amount of content. Overall you the readers selected for the second edition to come out later but with extra content! As you can see I decided to release the second edition early just because I felt like writing it (I was really freakin bored and need something interesting to do the was somewhat productive ). Anyway so this edition won't be featuring any towns (sowwy ) but do not despair because the third edition will have towns! Now without further ado I give you.... The second edition of the ECC blog! Thank you, -Anvildash TOWN OF THE WEEK, BUILD OF THE WEEK, RANDOM TOWN OF THE WEEK canceled due to.... Well if you read the first ECC blog you would know! ECC NEWS AND UPDATES NEW ECC FACEBOOK PAGE As you all most likely know, ECC now has a face book page. I'm not really sure what I can really write about it apart from it seems like will help to strengthen our close knit community. I really am interested in seeing what kinds of new and interesting things that this page will bring to the table in regards to user relations. It's been said that there may be exclusive facebook page events/announcements so I would definitely recommend liking the page to stay in touch with the goings on on ECC. Maybe the ECC blog might get featured on the page some day.... Cough cough nudge nudge MY BUILDER MEMOIRS Well ladies and gentlemen, there really isn't much else in relation to server news/announcements so I decided that I would tell you all the story of the little Anvildash that stayed builder for at least a year. So back in late December of 2011 a new player named Anvildash arrived on ECC and honestly was instantly spooked by the economy aspects of the server. I had played on an economy server before but it wasn't even remotely as well developed as that of ECC. So I just decided to go into the wild and start mining/building (random side note, when I joined and I saw I was a builder I thought I meant that I was special or something...). Well after about a day I realized that building near the wild portal was not the best way to go about things (you all know why). With this grand realization I headed into the untamed wild that was teeming with hostile mobs. I ended up building a lovely cobble box thingy on the side of a mountain (if anyone ever finds a house like that in the wild please tell me) this was my first real house. Sadly I had not read any tutorials (I'm not sure if there were any) so I didn't know that you could lock your chests. Therefore I resorted to burying my chest of good stuff way underground, but eventually some xrayer found the chest and I was left with nothing but my inventory ..... I would declare Bacon day. Pigs would rain from the sky for a half an hour at midnight and midday at spawn, although they would not drop any drops. Occasional drop parties throughout the day would drop nothing but pork and cooked pork.
I would declare no law day, all plugins that protect things like worldguard and stuff gets disabled and there is no worldguard so free griefing and the only laws are chat laws but otherwise it's every man for himself (Added the server gets rolledback at the end of 24 hours)
I would declare national firework day because the fireworks in minecraft are really cool and aren't used that often. Everyone would have the ability to use them on this holiday.
SeptimberfestA week-long event with massive parties at huge houses all over the server. There'll be music, food, pools, bikini babes, fireworks, redstone lamp shows, celebrity appearances, and fun times all around. No stone will be left unturned, no single user will be left without a ridiculously unbelievable story. It would be the most thrilling and swagtacular series of events that has ever occurred. They will be the best. Parties. Ever. Of all time.
Id declare a day where everybody had every donation feature, so people could try out different features and decide whether or not they want to buy it. It would only be on day a year, so it wouldnt really affect the economy in a major way.
I'm still looking for more submissions of towns/builds so please fill out the application in the thread to get your town or build featured in an edition of the ECC blog! Fame and fortune is just an application away
Pffft if you're proud of your town in relation to community, builds, unique other aspects then please post an app I need to have a somewhat substantial selection of towns to choose from so any suggestions are greatly appreciated
