What about wheat? There's no tool that makes wheat farming easier. If cactus farming isn't feasible due to lag then maybe consider revamping wheat farming.

Anyway, if it can be done without introducing lag*, I'm all for it.

*if I'm not mistaken, the cactus block is computationally demanding because it has to continuously check whether there's nearby entities to harm, in the same way as redstone circuitry continuously checks whether there's nearby blocks to activate (but please correct me if I'm wrong)

Ok, then I was mistaken. But was I at least slightly right when saying that cactus farm was outlawed not just for auto-farm but also because it caused major lag? (if so, I'm curious about how it did create lag and why it won't be the case now) I kind of recall reading something like that some time ago
