With chat not being as active as before, this change would promote less repetitive messages in chat throughout the day. People use macros now and they can send messages right at cooldown of either 5 minutes or 10 minutes. I am suggesting something like 15mins/20minutes be the new cooldown.Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: With less chatting, comes more trade spam. Combat this with higher trade chat cooldown and trade spam is more bearable. This suggestion comes from someone who actively uses both trade and global chat. I send trade messages on cooldown and notice how spammy it can be at times. I have started to make my macro send trade ads around every 30 minutes when i am online and feel as if that is still giving decent exposure.Other information: Plugin or custom addition: One suggestion per form: I Understand.
I like the idea, but wonder if there is a usage metric that could be implemented. Like 3 times within 1 - 3 min of cooldown...no issue. 4th attempt increases cooldown by x min. if there is another 2 attempts before cooldown reset to new higher limit or something like that. It will limit the spam and only affect people who are spamming more. Just a thought.
I won't be changing the cooldown I'm not really a fan of changing rules to target things that really only apply to certain parts of the day. The 5 minutes has worked for us for a long while and realistically once chat does get busier I will probably end up just flipping it back again. We might as well leave it as is.
