I would prefer not to half-ass a solution to a legitimate problem. This feature could be rebalanced at a later date once the exploits are fixed. Though I have to say I like kenny's suggestion quite a bit

Removing a feature entirely instead of solving a particular problem is also generally regarded as half-assing a solution.
Sure you don't encounter the issue, but it's still there. -
The thing I'm worried about with your solution is that players could still see the IDs of tools currently in someone's inventory. I don't have the feature so I'm not sure if it works on vanished players, could someone clarify this?

Sounds like it’s the responsibility of the tool holders to keep in mind their coords can be found when you mishandle you tools knowing that they can be found with tool hunter now.
I will say this again: DONT PULL TOOLS OUT AT MOB SET UPS DONT PUT THEM AWAY AT MOB SET UPS.
just like it’s the responsibility of someone to use /vanish knowing people can use /near.
I really wish people would stop throwing the word “exploit” around when it’s literally a mechanic of the feature.-

I'm aware but can you see the coords of tools that are currently in an online user's inventory?

it brings up a log of places the tool has been moved, basically whenever it’s been moved into inventory or out of inventory.
so if I pull a tool out of travel bag into my inventory it will show the coords of where that event took place. But it won’t disclose where a tool currently is. Just the last place it was moved.-

well guess what, life changes, some feature elements have been removed in the past, such as Investigator+ with the previous toolhunter exploit
