    Suggestion:
    Add another way to bump up a thread. What if updating the original post could bump a thread on its own. This could possibly be spammed so only allow an update to cause a bump every 24 hours or maybe 3 days?
    So like if you update a thread 5 times a day, only bump it once since it’s all within 24 hours.
    Or allow the person to choose whether or not updating the original post would cause a bump (with the 24 hour restriction)

    Reason:
    Kinda annoying to see post after post of “bump”. If the original post is updated, I think that’s a good reason to bump the thread

    Other Information:
    If it sounds confusing I can try explaining it better? (I suck at explaining in general)

    +1 It would be nice to be able to bump threads and maintain a clean and professional look. 6 pages of "bump" gets ugly and makes it difficult to navigate actual posts.

    We already have a way of bumping threads, and changing it to an option will most likely require a xenForo plugin. To quote andrew:

    Theres an addon where you can click an 'Up Thread' button and it bumps it.

    I think it would do nicely, as it saves space because unnecessary posts to bump threads wouldn't be needed
