THIS WAS OUR LEGITIMATE ASSIGNMENT. Cuz' my Comp Sci teacher has too much SWEG for you. Anyways, I changed a few things to make it seem more difficult, so here it is. Your group are members of a department in Washington, D.C., that is in charge of experimental stations in the far outposts of civilization. Suddenly the Third World War breaks out and bombs begin dropping. Places all across the globe are being destroyed. People are heading for whatever fallout shelters are available. You receive a desperate call from one of your experimental stations, asking for help. It seems there are 10 people but there is only enough space, air, food, and water in their fallout shelter for 6 people for a period of 1 year – which is how long they estimate they can safely stay down there. They realize that if they have to decide among themselves, which 6 should go into the shelter, they are likely to become irrational and begin fighting. So they have decided to call your department, their superiors, and leave the decision to you. They will abide by your decision. But each of you has to quickly get ready to head down to your own fallout shelter. So all you have time for is to get superficial descriptions of the 10 people. You have half-an-hour to make your decision. Then you will have to go to your own shelter. So,you must decide which four of the ten will have to be eliminated from the shelter. Before you begin, I want to impress upon you two important considerations. It is entirely possible that the 6 people you choose to stay in the shelter might be the only 6 people left to start the human race over again. This choice is therefore, very important. Do not allow yourself to be swayed by pressure from the others in your group. Try to make the best choices possible. On the other hand, if you do not make a choice in a half-hour, then you are, in fact, choosing to let the 10 people fight it out among themselves, with the possibility that more than 4 might perish. You have exactly on half-hour. Here is all you know about the 10 people. 1 – Bookkeeper 31 years old 2 – His wife, six months pregnant 3 – Second year medical student (Male) 4 – Famous historian-author, 42 years old 5 – Hollywood starlet, singer, dancer (Female) 6 – Biochemist 7 – Rabbi, 54 years old 8 – Olympic athlete, all sports 9 – College Student (Female) 10 – Policeman with gun (they can not be separated) You are to determine, out of this group of ten inidviduals, which six you would choose to have inside of the shelter. Who would I keep? 1- Bookkeeper 2- His wife 3- Second year Medical Student 4- College Student (Female) 5- Biochemist 6- Policeman with gun Reasons for my choices: 1- He is a bookkeeper. He is most likely smart and organized, and is more than likely able to keep records well. 2- She is pregnant (why not keep her?) and is the wife of the bookkeeper. 3- Someone needs to know medical stuff, even if basic, so everyone there doesn't end up dying in the long run. 4- The male student needs someone to partner with so that incest doesn't get involved, and she is probably learning something useful to the situation. 5- The biochemist is important, why? He knows stuff about plants, animals, etc, if it comes down to a survivalist situation. 6- If the world restarts, we need someone to lay down the law and control whats going on so that we don't have to fully recreate the legal system.

Also another person to repopulate. 3 - Will help with injuries and diseases, when it comes down to it he will save lives at least 3 fold his own. 4 - (Not being disguesting I mean this) A girl to bang, basically it... you try going a year without a woman. She can also provide music and culture to the group which will soothe many people when they are angry. 5 - Will be all around useful. Can keep the group in shape with dieting/exercise drills. Can move things. 6 - Yep you guessed it... Another girl to bang xD Bang - You know what. But this sums it up: Repopulate earth. Please the men. Reasons for killing them off: 4 - Useless... we really don't need to know what happened in the past although it would be nice. He's not worth another slot. 6 - Not needed. I'm sure the wife knows how to garden or at least has any sense of growing crops. 7 - Seriously... shes 54 what good does she add. Waste of resources, wouldn't last anyway. 10 - There is no way in hell i'm letting a gun into the shelter, this man is trained in combat, and if he went insane he could destroy the settlement.
For my assignment, i actually did not pick the bookkeeper, as the historian could probably provide more entertainment and record history better. I also booted the 6 month pregnant wife for a few reasons. One being she would need lots of medication to get her through childbirth, which im assuming in a fallout shelter, is limited. Another being that the near-constant wail of an infant in a small area would be pain-stakingly stressful for the others. The third, would be because it's the right thing to do. Imagine the wife, every day wondering about her husband, out there left to fend for himself. In a post-apocalyptic world, the last thing you would want is to lose your sense of morality. If you did, you aren't really human anymore. I also ditched the athlete, as all that time in a very cramped space would induce horrible muscular atrophy.

They can reproduce later. 3 – Second year medical student (Male) -yes. reason: has a some what good knowledge on medical science, which will come in handy if some one gets hurt/sick. 4 – Famous historian-author, 42 years old -no. reason: Old, wont help with much. 5 – Hollywood starlet, singer, dancer (Female) -yes. reason: babies! 6 – Biochemist -yes. reason: Look at breaking bad. That says it all. 7 – Rabbi, 54 years old -no. reason: too old, no reason to keep him. 8 – Olympic athlete, all sports -yes. reason: They will need some one strong for various reasons. 9 – College Student (Female) -yes. reason: smart, and will help repopulating earth. 10 – Policeman with gun (they can not be separated) -yes. reason: Play fallout 3.
