A lot of people use and love the application "Minechat" but, you may want to rethink using it. When you log in, you need to put your password for minecraft in, this is given straight to the developer and is made easier to be hacked. The developer claims that they will take legal action on the user who hacked, I would suggest you change your minecraft password if you have ever used this application. ~knears
I don't think you have much to worry about. The passwords wouldn't go directly to the developer, Minechat would just relay the password through minecraft.net to authenticate it. The developer would have no interest in stealing passwords. This would also mean the passwords would have to be stored somewhere, which means setting up a server, which costs money. If he/she did use Minechat to steal passwords it would destroy that developers reputation and if they developed code as a living, potentially there career. The developer of Minechat even made an ecc account to assist with a bug report with Minechat. So he/she is clearly dedicated to developing the app because they wouldn't go to this much effort just for a few minecraft accounts. vbisbest
Knears, i understand your concern, however i personally trust that the developer of minechat will not steal my MC password. Even if he does, it can be EASILY fixed. There is no need for the developer to steal accounts.
LOL xd this is the dumbest thread considering if he were to do that he will probably be put in federal prison because he was using that app for gain. Considering apple probably has mad him agree to the terms you mentioned such as he probably will never see anyone's password accept his own.
Mc password = ability to go into your account, which = hacking other servers, or harming servers/your user on servers.
Well, obviously there are ways to hack and harm other servers, but the developer for MineChat simply has no benefit or personal gain for doing so. It even says the login information is transmitted directly to Minecraft.
How is it made easier to be hacked? My chatclient works the exact same way, and so does the android client. Also, iOS apps are inspected before they get in the appstore, apple people look through the sourcecode and check for any exploits/illegal things, then they check what it looks like, and then they check functionality. When it's all approved only then it gets in the appstore.
In the event of that the app is hacked, the passwords are stored, which can therefore be obtained by the hacker. I was just warning all you incase there happened to be an issue, sorry for the trouble. That was very unnecessary and rude.
Its not rude its true, this thread was made just so you can get tons of views its really not that informative considering that if he were to hack that many minecraft accounts there would be many lawsuits against him. possibly from mojang to.
Just stop and leave the thread, your being rude towards me and I don't enjoy that, so please stop replying.
You are being very rude, Knears was just trying to help, saying that it it is the "dumbest thread" makes you seem like a 2 year old, show some respect please.
Well, obviously, a lot of people aren't enjoying this thread and I'm starting to get upset by some of the comments so kuke, can you lock the thread please.
