I actually talked to jmichael, when I went into my room to collect my $, he seemed relieved my $ was there. I asked him about it and he said a few users glitched into the rooms and stole some of the $. He seemed pretty disgusted and upset about it. Unless he was referring to another user, this appeal is a lie and is bs.

 

1. I had a msword scammed and logs weren't checked, they aren't checking logs for this, and 2. I said he could have been refering to someone else, but what you did matches what I heard

I would like to confirm that @a18greek18 did indeed show up and warn me about the jump glitch, and I did ask him how to make the vaults more secure -- but in fairness, he also stole 130k from one of the signs, and I had no warning of that before or after he did it. Which is so rude it's not even funny. I have very mixed feelings about this one. I am not very good at "security" issues and he DID tell me how to make the vaults more secure. But then he took money from one of the signs, which he did NOT tell me he would do.

I think this was an absolutely terrible thing to do, and I think @ClarinetPhoenix might want to weigh in on it. At the same time, @a18greek18 is absolutely telling the truth about helping me before that. Which makes the theft later all the more confusing to me. We didn't have any "I'll take some money" conversations, just "you need to fix this before someone steals" conversations.

I hope this saves staff time searching chat logs.

To be honest, I don't even know where to start.

You've been banned on many occasions for the same thing. When are you actually going to own up for your actions and take responsibility for them? Don't get me wrong, in practically all your appeals you always show such a sense of remorse, but then again I'm stuck asking myself the same question. You say these similar words, you pretend like your motives have changed, but once you're back in game, it's back to point one. If that's the case, what's the point of even appealing in the first place.

Our ban/appeal system is worked out to provide users who make mistakes in game with the opportunity to redeem themselves and prove otherwise. You being who you are, especially because of your past history as a staff member here on ECC, should be very familiar to how the system works. Our system is not to be abused or mistreated in any sort at all. That being said, from glancing at your previous ban appeals you've essentially claimed that you've worked to become a better person. Better yet, here's a direct quote from your appeal just roughly a month back;

So now I'm here asking myself, how in the world was stealing charity money that was gathered by the whole community for such a great cause, a good idea to you? How is that even remotely close to becoming a better person? I guess I'm failing to see the logic behind how you're attempting to gain your respect back here on ECC. If anything I feel like stealing the community's hard earned money would result in a large amount of hatred amongst the community. Take some time to think about it, you're essentially taking a little bit of everyone's property. How can you expect people to show you some respect if you strip them of their property? I don't think that's how respect works.

Now, to actually begin discussing your actions and the in game chat activity. The conversation between both yourself and @jmichael214 started out alright for the most part.

So as for how you came up with the idea of actually taking the money out of the signs is kinda concerning to me. @jmichael214 stated that he'd rather have you explain the way you'd even be able to access the trade signs. Moreover, to be honest with you, I'd most likely also have you rather explain your method rather than actually performing the task. Let's be real, imagine going up to the police and saying I can go rob the bank really easily, I'll go do it and come back with the money. Do you really think they'd let you get away with that? Regardless, he had asked you to explain not to do.

To be fair, yes you did give fair warning to @jmichael214 that the signs were accessible although you made no note of actually taking any of the money. Once again, you can't expect to get away with something like this so easily. Once again, going back to becoming a better person. Yet again, I'm failing to see the logic behind these actions.

What's even more concerning to me is how deceiving you were to @bmanvman . You encouraged him to get himself in a large sum of trouble. Once again, you can't expect such things to go unnoticed. Just about an hour later after having that conversation with @jmichael214 , you continued to @bmanvman ;

Are you serious? I'm in awe, I'm shocked, and I'm simply appalled. There's so many things wrong here. To begin, you said there were no rules against it all? To be fair, maybe you forgot about the rule, but encouraging other users to break rules or do anything that would remotely disrupt the server is an enforceable rule. Let that serve as a reminder. As far as @bmanvman stating that he would get in trouble and lose the trust that others have in him, he's completely right. I'm shocked that him saying that didn't clue you in with anything that hey maybe if you didn't actually attempt to steal the money, maybe all of this would have been avoided? The fact that you said that @jmichael214 wanted you to make sure no one took the money, then went to telling a user how exactly to get the money is simply disturbing to me. Once again with the honesty of your words. It's hard to believe what you say is true in the first place.


Just a few moments later, @bmanvman questioned you once again to reassure himself.

Again, encouraging another user to break a rule and disrupt the community. I'm not going to include the rest of the conversation, but it all consisted of you going back and forth with @bmanvman encouraging him to steal the money.

Anyway, you've had such a history with disrupting the community flow. If I recall correctly, a similar incident occurred with the LWC removal thing. That resulted in andrew asking you to remain both off the forums and in game for 2 weeks.

a18, I'm going to be frank with you. If you want to be a better person, you truly need to question your intentions and rethink your game play actions. You can not continue with these disrupting behaviors. I can assure you, if this type of behavior continues you won't be here for very long. That being said, I know you have it in you to completely change your mindset and attitude.

Like I said above, you were once an ECC mod. You were a stellar mod, back then that is. Once again, being honest I'm not sure what happened to that guy. I want to see the old you return. I want to see your old positive self. The old ECC mod that use to spend his time, devoted to helping new users settle in and get started. That was the you that ECC needs today. That was the you that everyone respected and spoke highly of on a daily basis.

That all being said, I'm going to deny this appeal. I'm denying it simply because you can't seem to be fully honest in this appeal. You said;

You didn't tell Clarinet anything. It wasn't until Clarinet had confronted you that you had explained what took place and had sent her the money. Adding on to that, if you can't see what you did wrong here, you need to sit down and spend some time thinking about what took place over these past few days. Reevaluate your actions, and see if you can come up with a logical reasoning. I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something.

Anyway, I honestly look forward to seeing an updated more truthful and honest appeal from you in the near future. That all being said, I'm going to be locking this now for obvious reasons.
