Minecraft Username: @victorparas Reason of Ban: Major griefing Rule violated: Section 2 - Griefing, Trolling and Harassment Clause 1 - Griefing Grief is defined as breaking or destroying things that do not belong to you, including breaking and replacing things to get to places that otherwise you shouldn't be going (for example, breaking into someone's house.) This can also extend to building things in areas that do not belong to you. Grief is not allowed in protected towns, unless the town owner has decided otherwise. In the event a grief occurs in a non-grief town then a grief report can be filed here: Grief Report and Rollback Request If a town allows grief then all residents must be informed before joining the town. When a grief report is filed, grief is graded on a sliding scale of minor/moderate/major based on the amount and severity of damage done, and is determined based on staff guidelines by the staff member investigating the situation. It is also determined at that time whether the grief is bad enough to warrant a rollback. Please explain in your own words what the rule(s) means: This is when a certain user breaks blocks in a protected town or protected area without sufficient permissions, or doesn't replace such blocks Reason you feel you think you should be unbanned: Well here goes the story, it was my first day back on ECC (or mine craft actually) and I kind of forgot the 'jist' of it all. I had a pumpkin axe in a locked chest and used it to mine cocoa beans from this farm which I was given perms to from @bandgeek12345. When agreeing to the terms he never specified what needed to happen (be replanted, etc.) and just told me to enjoy. So after a day of mining cocoa beans, I just thought that they would be one of those plants which would regrow (as this is the first time EVER I've worked with cocoa beans, farming in general, actually). So after a while I went to another farm, and got perms there; however, that farm owner told me the rules about replanting and it hit me that I forgot to do it at my old farm perms (sorry for repetition of words). I buy the cocoa beans from a shop to replant and immediately find out that without any explanation (as the user had me on /ignore) I had no perms. I was very scared as I wasn't knowing if I did anything wrong. As I said with no warning or explanation I got banned. I feel like this was an honest mistake and if I'm allowed back I will replant the cocoa beans personally. **Additional note** If anything I am one to hold my word and am in a loan contract to buy a melon sword and I do not want to disappoint @Bad_Boy1_3 as he has been so generous to me in so many ways, such a nice person which I refuse to disappoint. I hope you consider this appeal with lots of thought into my point of view and that I in fact made an honest mistake. i was tagged in the ban appeal so i feel i have the right to share my side of the story. https://imgur.com/qwFbxjx,AMD9qhf,xDkrUSW,SqY6Hvi,N02eKY0 that is the reason why i put victorparas on ignore. i did not want to deal with the user at the time due to being very upset. at the time of finding the crops not replanted i got an investigator out of tradechat @JamieSinn did the investigating for me. he let me know victorparas did not replant. i did /seen to see if he was online replanting and he was not, he was offline for 30+ minutes. this happened around 12-12:30pm on 2/28. i removed the user to avoid more damages. as for warning about replanting i give warnings about the farm rules at the time of selling perms.. this user purchased perms around 12AM on 2/28 i stated the rules in local chat as well as have rules posted on signs near the doorway of the farm. signs located at x=616 z=995 in rising. if there is anything wrong on my end i apologies for damages done and will do everything in my power to make things right.
I actually appreciate you responding, but I am 100% sure that you might have made a slip up in not telling me the rules, I really meant no harm, I just want you to know that, and next time before filing a grief report (as I was kind of nubish) I should have asked for warning when applicable (like in this case). I'm sorry to your farm and if I'm aloud on time I'll replant; as well as, re-pay my loan which is crashing down on me D:
To add to this, the wheat farm above had been very clearly greifed with intention to harm, this is because there is no farming pattern down the rows, and rather just randomly breaking them whenever possible.
Ok, I'm very sorry to contradict @JamieSinn but there was no mean to harm, just it was so abundant that I went YOLO on getting the wheat. I hope at least SOME people realize that I meant no harm, I really do. I have respectably used other farms (2) and never did any harm, it just so happens that I had no time to fix this, and that I was 30+ mins offline? was I no aloud to take a break, after that, coming back and realizing my mistake and trying to fix it and not getting perms, this was just unfair. He did this so I wouldn't have a chance to redo, I sent him multiple pm's stating that I needed to fix the grief and his response, I don't talk to you, you are on /ignore now. I feel like I had no warning or chance to fix my mistake. This is why I believe I should be aloud back on, as I meant no harm and this coincidentally went the wrong way. If anything, I just want to honour @Bad_Boy1_3's contract as I don't want to let him down. @bandgeek12345 I wish you would have gave me a chance, not just jump to conclusions and not give me perms and I personally apologize to you for not respecting your farm sorry @Bad_Boy1_3 I'm trying my best
Hi Victor, I'm glad to see you've appealed. First off I'd like to thank you for going in depth with the explanation behind what had taken place. After conducting another investigation at the site in which you griefed, I will be reducing your ban to a 1 day temp. Whether you griefed intentionally or unintentionally, what you had done still ultimately falls under the grief category. Don't think that you're off the hook with a 1 day temp ban. During this time, I'd still like you to review the server rules which can be found here. More specifically spend time reviewing the rules and policies regarding grief. Regardless whether or not bandgeek had informed you to replant at the farm, I'd assume it'd be pretty self explanatory to do so. After visiting the town, it was clear that the farm in the town was a public farm for the town members to use. Being offline for quite some time shouldn't be an excuse for breaking over 22,000 cocoa beans. As a builder, you agreed in your Resident application that you had read the rules. I expect you to honor your words, and pledge to demonstrating your firm understanding of the rules from here on out. Take this as a reminder; as I can assure you if an issue similar to this arrises again in the near future it will not be handled this leniently.
