Reason of Ban: Abusing sponges to grief portals

Clause 1 - Griefing

Please explain in your own words what the rule(s) means: Griefing is not tolerated and is a bannable offense.
Reason you feel you think you should be unbanned: I did not realize I was actually affecting the portals. I have experienced in the past where I am able to break a block in a protected area and it spawns back, although the client-side visual effect shows that the block is no longer there. I assumed this was the case with the water in the portals. I apologize for any grief I caused to the server, as this was not my intention.
