Counter-Reason:I have several reasons. 1. Of course, I did it as a joke, and did not realize that some people would take it seriously. Also, the server I advertised isn't even real. The IP was mc.minecraft.com:25571, and if you check that isn't a real server. The idea behind it is that minecraft.com is minecraft, which we were all on! Also later on I heard that some staff members warned me to stop, but I didn't hear them. I am very sorry to all staff members who i didn't hear, and if I knew you were telling me to stop I'd have stopped instantly. I just wasn't watching the chat log except for when I typed. And finally, I love this server and would have to be crazy to do something that I knew would get me banned. I would do anything to get back on. Please don't take what I said to seriously.
Evidence:The IP wasn't real, check by trying to connect. I didn't realize that advertising a non-existant server was against the rules. Also, I'd never delibratly do something that would probably get me banned from this server - it's the best server ever and the only server I actually play on minecraft.

1. You advertised an IP, knowing full well we do not allow such things.
2. You were advised/asked to stop, and continued to post the IP, fake or not.
3. Staff isn't going to check if the IP is real or not before banning. It's a server IP and doesn't belong in ECC chat.
There is no reason to advertise, and as a Resident you have acknowledged reading the rules as part of your application to become Resident. You know we ban for advertising, and, sadly, we have to ban for it a lot. Even without reading the rules, this fact is common knowledge... it should have been common sense to know your 'joke' would get you banned.
To ensure you know how seriously we take this, and to give you ample time to read our rules and understand them, I am going to place you on a 48 hour temp ban. Please don't ever pull a stunt like this again, or the consequences will be a lot harsher.
