Username: LDeBernardi Reason: Attempting to scam a player Counter: I was selling a melon, and sword. I said it myself to a moderator and Thomasku who I "attempted to scam." Would I try to scam him? Pah! Of course I wouldn't! I have learned the consequences of scamming and they aren't good ones. I said I was selling a melon, sword. I simply forgot the and. I was simply selling a melon and a sword. Any player who can read would know what I was selling. Thomasku for some reason did not..... Scamming is never a good idea because it destroys the purpose of ECC. But was I? NO! This is all just a big misunderstanding. I am very sorry that Thomasku couldn't understand what I was selling. I decided to put the melons in because I thought it might attract more people. Why would I want to scam Thomasku when I had just applied for mayor? I wouldn't. I understand why Thomasku would be angry as I would be too if I had not understood something. He said I was advertising it as a melon sword but I was not. I would like to see a screen shot of him saying, "So you are selling a melon sword?" and me saying, "Yes, I am" It also said I was bending the rules, which I so was not! Scamming someone out of their hard earned money is a terrible thing to do on ECC. Once again, I am sorry for the misunderstanding on Thomasku's part. I was about to put them in a donation chest for him to see but he started saying I was scamming him. At first I was a little confused because he was saying put them in the donation chest! I was not aware though that I had made one. I knew I had the chest but I thought it was a regular lock. This situation just added to the confusion. Evidence: If you are unclear about any part of my story let me know. I might have a screen shot. The complaint against me has some evidence. The important part really is did a scam take place? NO! Was it a misunderstanding on both of our parts? YES!
Clause II: Bending the Rules Don't bend the rules in any smart / troll-y way thinking you will get away with it and look like a genius. You won't. We do not appreciate users bending our rules in anyway to troll our community. If you see a rule that has a few loopholes, or can be bent in any way, report it to us and post it in our suggestion forum. We will gladly take a look at it and change it if need be. Finding ways around the rules will be treated under staff discretion and will result in warnings / kicks or worse. Use common sense, and don't troll the community. Here is the rule I supposedly broke. I decided to post it here so you could see I understand this rule.
It might have appeared I was "trolling" because of adding the melons. I did add them partly because people would say "hmmmm why would there be a melon with it?" and also because people might at first think it is a real melon sword, which of course it is not. Also I was wondering is there any proof that I was, yes, selling a real melon sword.
I realized I have been banned in the past but I have learned from my mistakes. This ban I never saw coming as I thought what I was selling was perfectly clear. I might have broken a rule and if I did I am very sorry.
The same conversation was posted in Thomas's Complaint. As sick has said, please do not continue bumping your Appeal, an appropriate staff member will respond once a decision is made. Please be patient in the meantime and refrain from posting anything further.
and These are my own personal logs, and this is from a PM I had with you. I used this to come to the conclusion that you were deliberately misleading thomas to sell a melon and a sword. This can fall under scamming, trolling and bending the rules. And I find it difficult to believe that you were doing this unknowingly. Sorry, but your story doesn't sound believable in the slightest, you didn't forget to put the "and" you deliberately did it. Denied.
