Minecraft Name: Vintage_Gamer
Suggestion: To move all closed/ locked ban appeals/ complaints to an archive sub forum.
Reason: It makes viewing ban appeals and complaints that are not yet handled more efficiently.
Any Other Information: When a staff members locks a post, they should move the thread to the sub forum where it will stay there. The sub forum will be blocked from posting new threads, only threads can be moved there.
Link To This Plugin:
Creating sub forum: Admin CP > Applications > Display Node Tree > Create New Node > *Check the Forum Option* > *Set Parent Node to Ban Appeals & Complaints*
Block users from posting: Admin CP > Application > Display Node Tree > *Click Forum* > Forum Options > Un-check this:

From a non staff side... this would make complaints we've posted easier to tell if they've been handled (which could be good or bad)
But also clean that place up +1-

Actually.. thought of a -1 point! D:
It will make it harder to 'Search this forum only' when looking into the background of someone. It will require 2 searches rather than 1, which some people may not think about. It isn't a major issue, but then this isn't really solving an 'issue' as such, more just making our lives a bit more organised.
Not sure making it harder (even if not that much) for players to look into someone's history to prevent scamming is worth making staff's lives more organised. -
Wouldn't they just search the archive as open complaints aren't proving anything yet? It's the locked ones they want to search for.

If someone has several open complaints for scamming, you still wouldn't want to trade with them ;)

You can search in more than 1 forum in the "More" option on the search interface.
Child nodes are also searchable from here when the parent node is selected. -
Wouldn't be hard to search as they would be on the first page. So no need to search. Just gotta look at the section which they will already be in anyway to get to the sub for the archive.

I know it's not hard, just some may not think about it :p
@Vintage_Gamer - I would say that I am one of the most frequent users of the search feature on the forums, in particular searching the complaint/ban appeals multiple times a day, and I didn't even think of using that option to search multiple forums at once haha. It is also dependant on you realising that you have to search both - If you do that, as Phys said it is, it is very straight forward.
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of having a forum which solely shows open complaints. And this search thing may not even be an issue - Just thought I would raise it.
This thread is the perfect example of when it would be good for me to think before I post, rather that using posts as my thought process :p-

I would like to make a point.
If this suggestion were to go throught, to make the process easier, create a new "Ban Appeals & Complaints" section, and change the current one to the child of the new one. Then we can just move all open threads out making the transition easier.-

This idea is well-thought, I do like it very much.

The notion of typing very small in order to emphasize sarcasm is truly original!-

It seems useful for both staff and plebs... I mean non-staff :p
+1 -
Make sure the archive (finished complaints) would not be post-to-able for us peasants. That way no one on Staff has to constantly move the open ones to where they belong
Otherwise +11 -

I don't see a real point to having this. I could search for someone up on ban appeals complaints, click threads then scroll down to see the verdict. And with a new forum, I do the exact same thing. There really isn't a benefit, nor is there really a point in having this. And even then looking at the ones not yet handled, they are on the first page, and they are the ones without a lock sign on it. I don't see how it is hard, at all.

Right now, all we have is locked or unlocked accusations. Having a forum for open accusations, and a second one with locked verdicts would help those of us that are looking to confirm whether someone is to be trusted or not. Being accused 10 times of SG hacking, but every time being proven innocent would allow us to see that they ARE trustworthy... and apparently very good ;) On the other hand, someone that is guilty for the 2nd time of scamming should not get very many customers.
Of course, instead of Staff doing the extra 2 minutes of moving and editing thread titles, someone COULD volunteer to just make a weekly updated thread showing everyone accused, guilty or not, and number of times they've ever been accused... maybe even their entire "criminal" record... but that would be posting about bans, which we're not allowed to do ;)
You know what I really want? I want a wiki page showing who is and who is not trustworthy with my money, without having to spend 20 minutes searching for and reading every complaint against them. Since this an economy, I (and probably quite a few others) would be willing to "pay" for a subscription that would contain this knowledge ;) -
Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeDividing users into categories in order of trust is... well... weird IMO. If you don't want to risk your money, don't lend it.
On a side note, moving threads takes like ten seconds :p
