Hmm, ninjadude, I think you are clutching at straws here, marginal cases of very low probability.

If such were to occur and an injustice done, then a procedure exists for dealing with that, too...a ban appeal.

 

Most people will try to work it out with you for "forgetting" something. Like PM'ing you with "Where the !#$@ is my !%$@$%'n Shit you scumbag!?" :p

If you "forgot", then I would think this would help you remember... quickly.

If someone has a hospital issue, and need to log off right away, I really think that not playing for a day or two is the least of their worries.

One off situtations are just that, one off. There are people with a growing track record. If you are "forgetting" or having "emergencies" on a regular basis, then this might help you to prioritize things.

 

That just made me think of something. Perhaps this suggestion could be modified so that people with a record of say, 3 or more times having something like this happen, began getting the temp bans. If this were to happen, I would be quite fine with this being implemented, but with no chance whatsoever, you make one mistake and *BAM*, 3 day temp ban, that's just harsh.

To everyone else, I see your point. I just severely disagree with Tanstaaffl's saying no excuses. There are explanations to many things, and often people will legitimately forget.

Also, I think everyone can admit to this; there are good suggestions, but no one suggestion is perfect in everyone's eyes, and there is always room for improvement. We may at one point have a suggestion the majority of the people on the FORUMS agree with, or the majority of the people that play ECC, but it is almost impossible to have a completely perfect suggestion.

 

I did not think that ban appeals were possible for temp bans, and if they are, for a 3 day temp ban, the staff would likely think it too small to bother with and just pass it over.

To fix this problem we can do one of two things-
1)We make a contract stating that they cannot spend the money before the feature is purchased
2)Make them buy the the feature before you pay

 

Still no punitive action being taken in your scenario kick

 

Dork that was to fix the problem, if they are caught spending the money with a contract stating they cannot before the feature is purchased, then it is a breach of contract.

 

Yes please!! I almost got scammed my U******B*****49 yesterday. Luckily, I want raging and got my money back. I was lucky because not everyone does get their money back. I feel that these people deserve a punishment, other than being banned in my 4 towns.

So.... over 40 of the servers most active members (mayors/presidents+) have agreed this rule should be implemented. Thats not including all of the people that have "+1'd" this thread. Staff and Andrew, I hope you see what our community wants.

 

Just another example of ECC protecting the rule breakers while people who follow them get put on the backburner :/
