Exactly like that. In fact if mod had even just gone to the trouble of adding a few words on the first dismissed town ban thread, ladyv would have figured out exactly what happened just in her research of the topic she did before posting the initial thread. Just a "complaint locked due to policy change in reguards to town ban. If this happens again contact a mod immediately in game"
Ah well at least we know what happened now.

Has anyone ever thought that the mods acted on their own and were later told not to do that?
Because that's what it looks like.
It was never "supported", it was just facilitated by a handful of staffmembers.-

UnitedStates2 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Gameplay Architect Premium UpgradeIf they were "noting" it, like they said in their replies to town ban threads, it probably was supported - Not to mention the fact that mods were willing to ban users whom access unlocked chests while banned from the town. Sounds supported to me.

UnitedStates2 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Gameplay Architect Premium UpgradeIf a "couple staff members" were willing to ban people for something that's not in the rules or guidelines, that's not normal staff activity - that's abuse. And I seriously doubt a GameAdmin who's now a ServerAdmin was abusing their powers - https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/user-complaint-phantomine.113322/#post-604851

That's a really good theory, but I don't think it could be the case since the practice spans years, many different mods, and all the bans were handled in a very similar manner which would cause me to believe there was some kind of guideline for doing so at the time. It would have to be a pretty elaborate multi-year rogue mod conspiracy to explain it that way :p

My view on this:
First and foremost, +1 because:
It keeps everything handy for us mods to see who is banned from the town and who should be kept away- sometimes mods forget to /note things- I know I do. Having somewhere where we can keep a solid record of it is a good idea.
If you are worried about flame wars then we need to just delete chat lol. Like lady said, there's always going to be flame wars, where ever when ever. But if needs be, just have the thread 'Approved' so only mods ans the thread poster can see it and edit it. No need to make a new one each time. We have this auto set on LWC's so its obviously not something that can't be done.
As for nicit saying that it can be handled in game- well can't most complaints? I see a lot of complaints that are for Language etc that could be handled in game but are not. Anyway, this is a brilliant suggestion Lady :)
