Bring PVP back to the mining world

Andrew has stated in chat he thinks the players should destroy all spawners. He approves of it and encourages it. If this is your arguement to bring back PvP, it really isn't much of one. To paraphrase: "If they complain about it, tell them andrewkm sent you."

I stated in the other thread, that there are plenty of places to PvP on the server: Nether, Survival Games, PvP. I don't PvP. By making the mining world PvP, you have now just limited my entire playing area on this server to just the main world.

I would support two smaller mining worlds, a PVP one and a non-PVP one, before I supported having just one mining world with PVP.

Do I only get one point? -1 then.

EDIT: Also, we have the mining world to lure the new builders from griefing the main world. And you want to throw these new builders directly into a PvP area with nothing as they just start out on this server? Doesn't seem friendly. How do you expect the newer builders to mine anything when they are just starting out? I think it sets the wrong tone of the server if we do that.

 

Id rather throw them into a pvp area. They will learn the hard way. Id rather have the ability to kill people to keep xray nubs out.

 

I feel if you make the mining world PvP, people will resort to mining out the main world again. I personally wouldn't go in the mining world. My first 3 days on the server was me finding a spot in the main world and burrowing myself in hoping I wouldn't be found. The day the mining world went non-PvP, I was so happy I could have another place to mine. You already have 3 worlds you can PvP in, just leave the mining world the way it is. Not everyone plays minecraft to PvP. I am one of those people. And it sounds like you are trying to alienate the non-PVP'ers.

The way it is right now, we both can enjoy the game. You want to mine/spawner protect/pvp, go to the nether. You don't want to pvp and still mine, go to the mining world. You want to just pvp, go to the survival games or pvp world, you want to not mine or pvp, but just build, you have the aether and main world. Seems like a nice balance to me.

 

+1 i agree i should be able to defend my spawner if someone comes down back in the day i just use to camp at my spawner all day and when someone came close it was death for them now people just break them and i have to find a new one or buy one. also ever since they disabled pvp in the mining world their have been more killings in the mining world using spawners people wouldn't be so desperate if they could just swing their sword and kill you.

 

+1, mining world back in the day was a big "no mans land" where you had to fight for your place and or spawner within the world. Now days any noob that uses x-ray or any other mod or finds it legit just goes in and breaks it, with pvp brought back at least you can defend your spawner or fight to get one.

 

people don't like me in pvp in mining world. when I first started work on unarmed. if they bring back pvp I will fight ther not mine there.

 

If pvp gets added there will be alwasy people camping spawn, and the builders will be getting killed all the time making them rage quit and not like our server and then they will leave. Mining world pvp= lack of new players.

I don't think this is really the wisest idea. I was never here when the mining world was PvP, however I hate PvP and didn't join this server to do so. I honestly joined this server to mine and get my own town and make it up the ranks. I don't feel that new builders should have to "fight" for survival per say. I agree with @Emau on this one. This is a Economy server, not gunned at PvP. I do see your point. I however don't support it. New builders need to have a chance and the more builders we have that join and then rage quit because a higher lvl such as a Pres or Tycoon, has better equipment and can defend themselves, it won't make us look good. On top of all of that anyone who has the money can get a unfair advantage on lower level's with equipment and personally I don't see the fairness in that.

 

I never understand why this keeps getting brought up over and over again. To all of those that always want PVP, there is a whole world dedicated to it as well as there are so many towns that have pvp areas. If PVP is so wanted, why are these areas ghost towns?
I currently own a town that has a pvp area and am willing to allow access to it for pvp matches.
It is my hope that they keep PVP out of the mining world or I can see rising turning into a wasteland quick. I know that I personally would never take a star tool anywhere pvp is allowed.
I am grateful the decision was made long ago to stop pvp in the mining world.

 

People (such as myself) already mine in legacy/rising.

 

I am thankful that just a select few make that decision.

 

Ban tp and op items only allowed wood swords and fist because I want to start dumping lava on people.

 

-1, the MINING world is for MINING, not for PvP. I want to be able to mine without having to worry about being killed and losing all my stuff, if you really want to kill people, go to the PVP world which is for PVP, or join a Survival Games, or go to the Nether.

 

Even in a pvp arena dumping lava is an abuse of donation features. You should know this, since you want to be mod.
