You have a great point. But however for the people who simply just want to mine they're screwed because they have that one chance of stumbling by a person and getting killed.

I have an idea! Two separate mining worlds! One mining world with Pvp and the same current mining world that we have currently!

 

But if there were 2 and one wasn't pvp and one was, which one would go to? the non-pvp one. Everyone would. There would be no draw to go the pvp one since it doesn't give me any opportunities that the non-pvp doesn't

 

I agree that everyone would go to the non pvp mining world whitesox. I think that a pvp mining world takes away certain things mainly safety for those who don't want pvp which, as you said everyone really wants.

 

@DancingDonut - this is a great idea and has been suggested many times, however, if you read all of the posts in the thread you will find that those that want pvp do not want it to play versus other pvp players - they want it so that they may kill easy prey and loot.

@WhiteSoxFan123 - I am going to assume here that by "opportunities", you mean easy targets that may be killed and looted for profit? There have been so many postings on this thread starting with the op that want pvp brought back to the mining world that there should be plenty of users to fill the pvp mining world with players. :)

 

And then there's people with my mentality of idgaf and go in anyways, to a world that is hardly touched, with dungeons and minerals to be farmed away.

When the minerals start to run out, I would go to the pvp world. At that point you have to make a decision: do you want to mine in a safe, chewed up world? Or do you want to risk mining in an untouched dangerous world.

This would be pretty cool.

I think that this is possibly the stupidest idea possible. So lets say your mining with an eff7 someone can just walk up behind u and take ur million dollar tool. No that is obsurd. However i do agree that the 2 different mining worlds would be cool although there should be clear titles saying which one is and isn't pvp as many complaints will be made as i i didn't know

 

Can we maybe nip this thread in the bud now?

That's right. I said it.
I recently went in the nether and saw someone mining. I killed him. I got quite a lot of quartz and even some gold armor.

How about making a separate Mining world that is PVP enabled?

 

I don't think anyone would mine there, it would just a another pvp world.

 

That's why we need to make an incentive to make people go there. 2x the ores, and disable /v, and allow /near. This way anyone can go there and get the high, high reward of 2x the ores. However, you can be easily tracked.

Lets actually add something new and exciting to ECC. With the all the crap that's been happening we need something to spice it up.

 

Faction, PVP, Prison and servers in a similar vain are in excess abundance, whilst ECC remains as it is centered on being an economy based server, although it does offer a considerable amount of PVP related game play, I feel it should never sell its soul out to follow the servers I mentioned previously, especially when it is a leader in its own current format.

The current changes Minecraft is going through may well be a blessing in disguise, it allows established servers to 'settle' somewhat. I am sure most of us are itching to experience 1.8 on the modded platform, but in all reality that is going to have to wait.

Meanwhile my guess is that the younger generation may continue to grow impatient, and us elderly players will just have to tolerate the occasional compulsive posting or comment or two on the forums.

But let's get back to ECC, yes it is based on a well tuned economy, it is also very well managed by staff who in turn are required to adhere to defined processes and procedures, so do the players. These all indicate that ECC is a 'civilized' community - So I feel the argument that ECC is a hardcore economy server and therefore PVP should be allowed in the mining world is flawed.
