Minecraft Username: EtherealSquid Brief Description: If you don't have /fly, you will often be kicked while falling more than 10 or so blocks. Even if you do have /fly, you can also sometimes get kicked while in free-fall. Instructions: You can do this manually if you want but it's easier to just fly up to a really high height, at least 50 blocks above the ground just in case, and then disable /fly and let yourself fall. After you fall about 10-20 blocks you will be kicked for "clip." It is kinda random though. Sometimes you'll be kicked after 5 blocks, sometimes after 100, and everywhere in between. Sometimes you won't be kicked and fall to your death. I also have the fly feature which may affect how sensitive it is. I know many players without fly were saying they are often kicked too. If you do have fly and try to free-fall with /fly enabled, you can also sometimes get kicked. Every time you try to free-fall you'll also get your momentum suddenly halted every 10-20 blocks and then start falling again. How many times did you recreate this?: At least 10 Result: Was kicked for Clip at least 4 of the 10 times Expected Result: Fall to the ground and take damage/die without being kicked with /fly disabled Fall to the ground in one fluid motion and not be kicked with /fly enabled Evidence: Screen recorder is not working but happy to try to demonstrate in game.
@andrewkm both the jerky-falling and the kick still happen. Now I get kicked for "NoFall" instead of "Clip" though... and I take fall damage sometimes midair? Will try to get a screencap in a minute.
It's kind of a mixed bag now. Sometimes I get kicked for NoFall, sometimes I get kicked for Clip, and I almost always still die midair if I don't get kicked first. (Can upload more videos if you like) However, it all takes anywhere between 20-40 more blocks to start happening now (it varies), which makes it significantly less of an inconvenience unless you really feel like free-falling 70+ blocks.
I tested this quite a few times (20+) and it seems that the whether or not you're falling from a structure/block impacts when the distance fallen is enough to cause issues. If I doubletap spacebar whilst flying, a height of around 100 blocks+ is needed whereas a height of only 30-50+ can cause issues if falling from a structure/block. When the fall is great enough it has resulted in numerous deaths and several kicks for "NoFall".
