    **NOTE** I'm conflicted if this should be posted in the suggestions forum or not because this idea seems like something that is not new, and therefore not a suggestion. But then again, I used the search function and no one else has suggested it....

    The server rules are very clear, along with most threads, that cactus farming is disabled because of auto-farming. I get that, really I do but; couldn't cactus farming be permitted if the price of this item is set to $0.00 buying or selling? In this way, players would have no benefit what-so-ever to auto-farm and they would then only be planted for decoration or dye.

    Well, there are problems with mobtraps which are also illegal on the server. Also you could fill a pit with them and /tpahere to kill people in a safe zone. :\ i doubt it will be added, but it is possible... anything is possible :p

    If there is space available above 1 or 2 block high cactus, but there is a block next to where the new cactus block will be, then the cactus will grow and immediately break off.

    Cactus on the ground are deities, I believe... Or like items and animals. Auto-farming makes tons of them sit on the ground, break, and be created. Doesn't matter what the price is set at: Cactus farming and cactus placement will not come back. :/

    Wouldn't those examples be a perm ban offense?

    Cacti, much like trees and other plants, only grow the chunks are rendered by a player in that area. If the price is $0.00 (no gain from auto-farming) then players would be knowingly attacking the server (with large auto-farms) and should be perm banned. With this in mind, players are not going to want to risk it.

    What is the point in having cacti farms when you gain no profit?
    The only thing you can do with cacti is make farms or make traps.
    Both are against the rules.

    And besides... It would be impossible to find cactus farms. :b People would make them underground where the livemap cannot see them.

    That is a valid point that could be easily cancelled out rewarding players for reporting farms as they find them. If a player had the opportunity to get $10k or any other amount deemed reasonable, they would have no problems with reporting others for misuse.
