In some forums, I have observed that most users who are caught violating the rules for numerous times are IP-banned so that they will not evade the ban.
Uhh, you could actually more easily evade the IP ban <Staff Edit>, so they are kinda useless. Also, it's unfair because what if my brother gets banned? Now I can't play? That's not really fair.
How exactly is using <Staff Edit> allowed for people 18 and above. I also kinda think the ability to know someone's ip as a administator of a server/website is quite an invasion of privacy.
But the ECC rules stated that the means of hacking to go to the servers will have your information forwarded to the local police department after contacting your ISP.
Ok, you don't seem to understand. Using <Staff Edit> isn't hacking. In the rules you quoted, they are talking about hacking the server to take control of it or bring it down. Totally different.
The rules do not prohibit <Staff Edit>. There are various reasons to use <Staff Edit>. Personally I use <Staff Edit> to hide my IP. I've had issues with people ddosing my home address, so I keep it hidden. Nothing illegal about it either.
Ip-Banning is great for someone who brings so many alts and abuses the server, however for a one crime offence it is not the most effective due to people who generally have brothers and sisters who may play on the server and live in the same household. Also people who are serious about abusing servers often use ip changers and are still able to come online.
