5k is too low. When the auction's up in the multimilions and someone can just increase the bid by 5k then the auction won't go anywere, it could last for a very long time like that. 50k is more than reasonable for an auction that's guaranteed to go up in the millions.
+1 I agree, with the station 17 auction, the bid went from 3 million to 3 million ten thousand, which isn't even a 1% increase. These auctions regularly go into six/seven figures so the increment should be higher.
Quote from the approved suggestion to change the end date - I see no reason why the bid increment should stay at such a low price that could keep these auctions going for weeks. +3.14
Maybe when it gets above a certain amount you increase the min bid like 5-10% of the nearest hundred thousand rounded down? ie if the max bid is over 100k the min increment goes up to 10k and up to 50k if over 500k etc.
Even though this is math and I don't understand, I think this may be logical, although tougher to do?
I like the concept, but 50k is a bit much. I'd like the auctions to have 10k increments and a 50k start. As for the station17 auction (the probable reason you filed this suggestion), I only went up 10k each time to give myself another day to make money. I was barely making enough money to keep up with the bids, so I added 10k to delay the auction to give myself 24 more hours to make money. What I did actually raised the amount paid for the spawnshop by a significant amount (500k). From an economy POV your suggested price is stupid. What's the problem with 5k-10k increments? People will do what Hiccabup did and just add a major amount to ensure that they win. Spawnshop auctions used to last 7 days. Even with my slight increases the auction only lasted 5 days. +1 to the idea/-1 to the price you're suggesting
I'd suggest 25k. It's a reasonable amount and really if you can't make the 25k minimum bid you probably won't be able to keep up with future bids anyway.
