1. Yes, refund me. In my opinion, if you buy something and the person you bought it from took it back from you, I believe you deserve a refund/credits for something else. Look at it from a kitter's perspective. If you were to buy $25+ on kits and Andrew decided to take it back, I think you would want a refund.
Not really sure what your asking, but yes they can. To refund us they would need to give us coupon codes worth how many kits we had. Also, the amount of money I have spent on kits has not been made back yet. So it would make me lose money and I'd probably think twice before donating to this server again.
The way I see it, this isn't exactly an excuse. It's one of the reasons that I bought the kits. Go and play a full lobby match of Arena 2. 95% of the time a kitter will win. Before kits, there was only a fewer maps that I could play without being killed by a kitter. So yes, kits allow you to play on an even playing field as other kitters.
I think of kits as tools. You start out playing sg with no kits. Then you make money slowly and buy a kit. Then when you have more, you can buy another. And another. And another. This is what I did. There is not one person on the server who isn't able to do that. SG was never supposed to be equal. However, I think it is fair. When I started I played Sgs and when I was killed by a kit I didn't whine and say "That's not fair!". I thought to myself "I should get one of those!". Anyone who works hard can get a kit.

Yes, but there is a fine line he must walk. I've made this comparison before, and I'll make it again.
Say he adds a $50 that causes you to start the game off with full iron armor. There is no way anyone would be able to counter that right away unless they worked as a team, or bought the kit themselves. That being said, it's a donation feature that brings in money so it must be fine.
My point here is that just because it brings in money, doesn't mean it's a good thing. The "pay-to-win" system is a very disliked one within the gaming community. I understand there are those who don't mind it, but from what I've seen most people dislike the concept. There are plenty of things andrew could offer us as additional features that could replace kits. I can't personally think of any examples of that, but I'm sure he'd think of something. Just look at the new Investigator+ and the spawn statue rentals he's added not too long ago. -
Andrew has changed things that ruined features for people in the past. The one that effected me the most was when PvP was removed from the mining world. I bought the stealth feature that alone, and wasn't offered a refund when the change was made. It didn't kill me, and it won't kill the rest of you. That being said, all he has to do is implement arenas that do not allow kits. Removing kits completely at this point would be too much of a pain for him to deal with (even though I would love it immensely).
His second question is basically asking you to return the money that you gained from winning the SG's with kits. Basically it's you giving the server a refund on the money it gave you.
The SG's were intended to give everyone equal opportunity to find, and use what they find to the fullest. Using a kit unbalanced this, and I for one don't find unbalanced games fun. -
Many players would want a refund, I do not have anything against that, especially if kits were removed from the survival games COMPLETELY. I do have a concern with how the server is handling new players/non-kit users on this issue. I helped the server. In fact, I raised enough money to buy spyp, miq, and epp. It wasn't until I saw a man in enchanted leather armor when I realized, money can give you some of the best treatments. This player had it all; enchanted leather armor; an overpowered sword; a fifty caliber bow; and a golden apple to top all of it off, all with a cooling down time of only 10 minutes. He looked pretty confident that he was going to win. Standing there, I knew I needed to donate a little bit more money if I ever wanted to reach his 'level'. Just think about what those non-kit users were thinking. They have no chance against players this strong, which is probably why you see many newcomers in nearly every game asking if someone can team with them in an attempt for victory. Some of them probably don't even have the time to earn money for donations. But like donkey5k puts it, if anyone wants to play in an arena without kits, they'll just have to join another server. This is survival of the fittest, only the strongest will survive AKA the richest. I don't like it but I'm not going to let it ruin my experience for the server. I've been here long enough to call it the best server I ever been on.
Also, I'm interested in knowing, what happened throughout those processes you went through as you were evening out the playing field? Did you happen to come across any non-kit users, or did all of them have kits? Whining is a great way to show the server you want change, like a year ago(around there) when the server favored mining over farming but was overturned because there were so many players crying about it.
Guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing inside the arenas and hope something good will happen for all of us. -
I'm not going to lie. You bring up good points. To answer your question, I had a better chance of winning when the playing field was evened out. Some of the players I came across did not have kits.
I'm not sure how Sgs were when they first started, but now, this is not the intention. The Sgs on this server are much different than on other servers. This is because it is an economy server. If this was a mini-game server, I'd hate kits and probably not play. But it's not. Since it's an economy server, the people that work hard will be able to buy kits and have an advantage in SG. That's one reason I like kits. As a hard worker, it benefits me.
I understand that everyone doesn't have the time to make money for kits/but kits and I can see why people would call them unfair. However, if you think about it economically, it really is fair. -

I remember when kits were rare. Its different times I guess... Its just sad to see why I came to ECC in the first place is so radically different. Its a great server, and Ill just have to make do. I realize some people are in love with their kits. Thats cool I guess. In reality plus kits aand buffer are really the inly ones you cant overcome with pvp skill. Granted, no sword v miq isnt going to end well, but most kits are tolerable. Thats just what ECC SG is now. If i need to kill 3 cocky kitters in a game to win - so be it.
