@sjappiepkownd mob traps are not allowed. If the mobs are unable to freely roam the area on their own and are restricted to a small area, this is a trap.

If it is seen to be setup this way, the trap will be destroyed and the offending user risk's being banned. If yours is setup this way I suggest you fix it. You can use water to relocate the mobs away from the spawner however they must be in a large enough room to not be considered trapped. A minimum of a 10x10 area!
