consider begging for donations spam

People give all the time, including myself, to beggars. It doesn't clog up chat any more than standard trade ads, -1.

You know what gets annoying? Those 10 people who post 2 messages every 3 minutes, on the dot. Because macros.

I rarely even see begging in trade chat.

 

No, this is a free market. It isn't the server's responsibility to dictate what players can ask from the market and what they can't.

If these trade advertisements are really annoying you, you're always able to use /ch leave tr.

I personally hate beggars about as much as I can, and can't say how much I wish they would just make their own money like everyone else on the server.
On the other hand this has been brought up so many times, and this is supposed to be a realistic economy that mirrors real life. There are beggars in real life, therefore begging should be allowed here.

I wish this suggestion had a chance but it's been suggested a thousand times and begging is still allowed.

I'm on hardly at all and see if all the time,
You can't really make a rule for this though tbh, so many grey areas
Does get annoying when you see established players begging, but it's just another way of making money on Ecc

 

+1, this is actually one of my pet peeves... it may not clutter up trade a ton, but seriously, make your own money. It's not that hard, just go mining or something. Maybe considering it spam would convince more people to go actually do some work.

 

It's an economy server - Players will sooner or later know how to make money themselves as begging doesn't make much money, at all.

All banning begging will do is just adding another pointless chat rule that further complicates the rules and can even drive away some players as they might as well be thinking, "Wow, this server warns for every little thing." . Might I also mention, considering just begging as "spam" makes no sense, as spam has a separate definition of its own.

Don't want to see players begging? Leave trade.

 

I meant in the sense that it's drowned out by trade chat macros, not that it doesn't happen often.

 

Yeah, you have a point. As nice as it would be to have no begging in trade, banning it probably isn't the best idea...
