The High-Council (co-owners):
@gpc2002gpc
It's Laws and regulations are as follows:

The above are rules the following are common laws:
1 Acre of land = 10x10 Government price (doesn't apply to private real-estate): $750 ¥75
1 Floor (for farm tax calculations) = 10 Blocks High
- Open Roof Farming - Legal except for cocoa bean farms.
- Opening and taking from un-proctected chests - Legal
- Open Pit mining - Legal
- Houses with enclosed farms inside will be taxed based on farming taking place per acre that makes up the building (basically cutting it into squares) ie: someone has a 20x20 in quadrant 4 there is a farm and in quadrant 3 there is a farm. 1 farm gets taxed and other is considered subsistence so no tax.
- Basements - Legal
- Houses of dirt- Results in eviction.
- Daily Current Land tax (per acre of land owned if someone is mortgaging land then the land's sole owner pays this tax until the land officially changes hands): 10
- Daily Current Agricultural Production Tax (per acre/floor used for farming, only applies if more than 1 plot/floor due to people subsistence-farming): 15
- Daily Mining Tax: 25 (per plot used for mining)
- Daily Industrial Farming Tax: 20 (applies to only automated farming plots ie: hoppers/red stone to ease harvest, collected on top of the regular agricultural tax.)
- Daily Current Apartment Tax (per bunked and payed by apartment owner, applies to rented/mortgaged out homes/buildings/plots): 10
- Houses deemed too ugly or unfit for living will be condemned and evicted.
- To avoid taxes of farming one may purchase a farming permit, this will alleviate all taxes of agriculture.
- To alleviate all taxes on mining permit may be purchased.
- To alleviate all taxes on allowing renters/bunkers an apartment permit may be purchased.
- The first 2 plots a person owns are exempt from the land tax.
Notes on taxes: Taxes are collected every Sunday. Late taxes double in cost and if they aren't payed by the next tax collection it is breach of the citizenship contract. (example: John doesn't pay taxes week 1. His taxes for that week double and he has to pay week 2's taxes along with week 1's at the next tax collection day.

Yen is distributed via government managed accounts to prevent counterfeiting. It's values is the addition of these items and their Yen Values. ¥ = $10/1 Gold Ingot
Values:
- ¥ 1 = $10/1 Gold Ingot
- ¥ .375 = 1 Lapis
- ¥ .75 = 1 Iron Ingot
- ¥ .15 = 1 Redstone dust.
- ¥ 2.5 = 1 Diamond
This of course leaves Japan with on two official currencies: The Eco Dollar($) and the Yen (¥)
These are usable for all purchases with the Japanese government. If using for Taxes please use the Yen tax boxes located near the tax signs in town. These will be collected every Sunday and combined with money payed from the tax signs to total your payment to the Gov't. These chests are privatized with the name of the citizen above them and the emperor. In-Town shops don't have to accept Yen but are obliged to and may make "Payment Requests" on the town forum with proper evidence of the transaction to update accounts or can do it privately in-game and keep the money.
Failure to follow these rules is immediate eviction from the town or other penalizations by the emperor or High-Council.

Other information:
Laws in Edo are made one of two ways. Being a Monarcho-republic, Edo has an emperor who can make laws at any time BUT may call citizens to vote in a direct democracy system on specific issues for example outdoor farming and mining. Edo is also capitalistic and unless seen fit the emperor is currently highly against any form of welfare. Edo also currently has 2 officiated flags. The middle flag is the rising sun edition and the left and right flags are the standard Japanese flag. There is also the embroidered flag and another version of the rising sun flag.
