A complaint is a complaint.. No need for you to put a name

 

I think it doesn't matter for complaints as much, a mod should just say please remember next time to use. [Complaint] Username or something of that sort. Though for ban appeals mods need to be more strict and have he user appealing re read the appeal guideline and rules.

Based on your quote from the thread, there is no rule in the format thread stating you have to add a username to the title. It is merely a suggestion, and implied that it is highly appreciated.

It isn't too hard to say, "I'm handling the recent complaint by ___," nor is it very hard to hover your mouse over the title and see the user who is being complained about.

Although it would be nice to see complaints titled with the felon's username or the ban appealee's username, I do not think it should be required. Although, "Please keep a normal professional title" would be nice, and we could suggest users to use a better title next time, most will not use a better title. As well, most users who don't use a nice title often do not use a format, either, and tend to get their thread locked with a message telling them to check out the format/thread with the format.

[Ban Appeal] <username> (optional for the username)

This way, the staff team knows automatically about the user to see if they have a recent history or something, I also find it helpful too.

 

If we put the name next to the complaint/ban appeal we could skim down it and see if that person is dangerous and if we see a few we look into them

 

We all follow the format. Theres no point of whether or not you state who the complaint against in the title. All mods read the complaint and look at evidence, they don't judge based on what the title says.

 

I don't think its needed. Its an option and most people don't like it. I, personally, am against it because not everyone wants massive amounts of views. This may be a stupid argument, but it's true. People who are complaining against popular people get tons of views. Some people don't want this kind of attention because people can treat them poorly later. People can still read it, but I still think there has to be some way where you can only see the posts you have posted on the forum. Or, at least, I wish it was possible.

 

Honestly the only thing that drives me nuts is when people title Complaints as "ban request". Are you asking to be banned yourself or are you complaining on someone?

 

A ban request is when you must not have access to ECC and they do go in that section.

 

Jason, its optional. Its not "correct" format if it is included.

 

I think it should be a polite recommendation at the end of a complaint/appeal to use a professional title in the future, but no real enforcing needs to be done.

 

No when someone not saying anyone but swiggle he says ban request. He think that he can choose if that person is banned. Like seriously call it Complaint and the staff team choose!
