Okay, here are five dictionaries.
Okay okay, after that, I found several interesting articles on the subject.
This first one I ask that you refer to directly when you come back to quote my post.
But really all this tells us is nothing. Unless Andrew specifically tells us which he used, we can only speculate. -

Seriously, you're arguing something silly. It doesn't matter what the meaning is. if/how we enforce it is what matters.

And up until now, the staff haven't found it necessary to enforce. This hasn't caused staff any serious problems. This hasn't caused me any more than momentary confusion. I'm sure it is a little annoying to certain people, but, personally I don't care. -

Bump, so far poll implies 14 people saying yes on various levels, and 8 saying no.
More discussion? -
Basically, the main users that check the complaints section would be us staff members. If we felt that it was vital that the title should be in a specific format, we would enforce it. Seeing as we do not enforce it, suggests that it doesn't matter too much to what we are doing, we can still tell what is happening and once we click on it (which we click on every complaint/appeal to see what it entails) we will find out what it is.
So what I'm saying is that if the users that actually deal with the section directly (staff members) don't really mind if the title format is enforced, then let it be. At the end of the day, it would be more trouble for us, not you.-

We want staff to be respected, not thought of as a bunch of bums who could easily take a bribe here and there.
I know, it sounds a bit exaggerated. But you want to communicate the thread thing. You want to communicate that staff is professional. Staff does their job, staff doesn't like standards slip and slide in some areas, such as protocol/thread titles. -
I never stated we don't care. I said it doesn't make a difference to us whether the titles have a format or not.
I also don't understand where you say 'take a bribe'? I'm not sure how on Earth that relates to a title of a complaint/appeals.
Without being harsh, you're blowing this all out of proportion and not taking in consideration who the titles affect. They affect us staff members, not non-staff members so ultimately it doesn't matter to you so to speak. IF we wanted to achieve the high level of professionalism on this server, we wouldn't act as friendly and joke around as much as we do in-game. We do that to let our personalities out and have a laugh with the rest of the server, making us feel more approachable.
On another note, I for one respected the staff team as a lower rank, and I expect most other people respect us too. -

We have professionalism on the situations that count. If we aren't counted as professional because people don't write formal titles on threads, then I don't know what this world has come to. -

So, I feel I must second what void says, but, explain my perspective on it.
I've been on staff for a while. Before than I was a player, obviously. I never felt that the lack of enforcement for titles was showing a lack of professionalism. The fact is the titles are not a 'Professional' issue. In my opinion the titles are only there to help staff figure out what is what. Yet, I find myself opening up every single open complaint/ban appeal and reading them over regardless of what they are labeled.
Further, the only other time they would be relevant is when you are searching things. Yet, if I am searching for a specific players history with appeals/bans I would simply look up their name in that section of the forum. This means that the title is not relevant because the search bar checks the entirety of the post unless otherwise specified.
Titles are not there for professionalism and titles do not directly effect anyone except the staff. For example, we enforce the format regulations, why? That effects us and causes issues. It is hard to look up a problem, for instance, if the only mention of the felon's name is in the screenshots. Format is important and format helps us run ECC better. That being said, titles don't matter. I'm going to look at your thread regardless of how you decided to name it whether it was "Please ban him." or "[Complaint: (Username)]"
Finally, I must point out the following issue with enforcing the title rules. When LWC's format changed 90% of the LWC's over the next few weeks were rejected. People don't read. I even made an announcement post about the format change. People don't read.
So, lets say we decide to enforce the titles tomorrow. We make a post saying your post will be locked if done improperly. People don't read. 90% of complaints/ban appeals are suddenly rejected. Is that fair to the complaints posted? They have a serious problem and we are just going to blow them off because they said "Complaint" or "Complaint Against _____" Instead of "[Complaint: Username]".
I think that for the sake of the server running smoothly, there is no point to enforcing this type of thing.
