If users want to pay to get unbanned, then they can put forth some effort in a ban appeal.

 

I think this is a bad idea, this will make the rules seem more like a suggestion as opposed to the law. It seems like a corrupt way of doing things. That's like giving all criminals automatic bail.

If you really want to get unbanned, put effort in your appeal. Unban passes are for servers who need money and cant get it any other way. -1

Instead of paying to be unbanned, maybe there should be an application fee, in ecodollars, to file a ban appeal. A lot of times people that are banned for things that are viewed as minor rule-breaking are unbanned quite regularly and told to just read the rules while their temp-ban lasts. I personally do not know the statistics on users that receive a ban becoming repeat offenders after being unbanned. However, if it is at least a moderate percentage, maybe a "ban appeal application fee" could be used as an additional tool in curbing bad behavior.

 

What if they had no money? they wouldnt be able to earn any while theyre banned. Also, only wewinagain amd andrewkm can take money out of balances.

I'm not saying it's a perfect idea, but the current ban appeal process to me just seems lacking. It doesn't make sense to me that someone can flout the rules and then just go play xbox for the night and log back in tomorrow as if nothing ever happened. To me a short temp ban just doesn't feel like a real enough punishment.

No. Absolutely not. People need to appeal correctly, and actually repent from their actions. Not just grief, buy a ticket, grief, buy a ticket, etc.

+1 This server is economy based, therefore I think this would be a great thing. Our real life world is also economy based, when you do bad things you get a fine or go to jail. In real life you can also bail out of jail when you have the right amount of money. I like this idea and fully support it.

 

I am not sure you understand how bail works. Due to the large amount of criminals the justice systems are held up, therefor usually it takes months to process any prosecution. Therefor bail may be posted to get you out of date UNTIL your court date comes. It is not a skip your punishment pass. Here on ECC we have no bead for such a thing. The great mods we have process complaints exceptionally fast as they don't need to Sid down with 20 people and discuss it. Due to the lack of time it takes to process complaints your are not banned as soon as you have a complain filed against you (and meant to wait untill a mod actually reviewed the appeal). That is where bail would get you out of if it existed in ECC.
Also you get your bail money back. Bail is a confirmation that you WILL show up to court otherwise the court confiscated those things/that money. We also for need those things because well duu. ECc is a server, people don't need to show up to a specific building, they can't run from the all knowin admins so bail is just pointless.

"Hmm, lets buy a Get-Out-of-Ban Free Card for 10 bucks!"
