Lately I've been rather worried about something I've seen on eviction notices: people who don't have forum accounts tagged. The main reason this worries me is because although we require screenshots of /mails for people being evicted without forum accounts, if these people are being 'tagged' in an eviction notice they probably aren't getting the /mails. Also, people without forum accounts can't file complaints (or have to rely on someone who does have an account to file a complaint). This leaves a hole where if someone isn't sent a /mail, they're improperly evicted and can't do anything about it. So my suggestion: Require eviction notices to have screenshots of the owners of the town /mailing people without forum accounts evictions. These owners should be taking these screenshots anyways, so it shouldn't be that much harder to upload them as proof to the notice. This way if they aren't in the eviction notice at all, either via uploaded screenshot or tagging, they shouldn't be removed from the town. Obviously I know this isn't every town owner, and that the ones at fault probably think that a thread is enough, but I want to help protect new players. If you guys want to leave feedback, please do! I'm open to criticism.
I don't see how you're able to say that - It won't make anything easier nor is this suggestion intended to make anything easier. It's intent is to make things fair for residents of a town whom don't have forum accounts - Which is why I support it.
It would be easier because a person wouldn't have to make a forum account than make a complaint and than it would annoying for all partys when it could be prevented just by giving proof of /mail or /mailregion PS: I am not saying it's annoying to file a complaint just that if it can be prevent it, prevent it.
This suggestion is aimed for people who don't have forum accounts and for the most part are unaware of the rules - they won't file a complaint and they get unfairly cheated: If it was easy for all parties, this wouldn't be an issue as owners wouldn't be not properly evicting people to take the "easy way".
This does also make it easier for owners, in the way that if a complaint is filed for inproper eviction they have the screenshots all in one place they can easily access. But yes, it's mainly towards the fact that people without forum accounts can't file complaints and so might be unknowingly cheated.
To be honest I don't see a surefire way to enforce this, as the following circumstances could lead to it not being needed: 1) Eviction by /mailregion - no forum post is required at any point. 2) Evictions for users without a forum account are mailed but not included the forum post - there would be no way for staff to know, nor would it be illegal, that there was a user evicted via mail. 3) 'Evictions' for users without mails and not included in the forum post - we would have no way of checking this and no way of actually enforcing it. I like the motivation behind the rule however it is simply unenforceable as there are too many ways around it.
