I can confirm, I took a hit with what seems to be the effect of knockback, but no hearts were lost, with or without armor. This is being looked into currently. Thanks for bringing this to my attention @zorracraft
Sounds to me like worldguard is having problems. First the sponge issue and now this. The problem here is that worldguard isn't stopping you from hitting yourself with a fishing rod. Someone should try shooting an arrow in the sky on top of themselves and see if that hits them as well.
Figured as much. Since worldguard hasn't had an update in a month it's probably an update from another plugin or spigot that broke it.
