I recently got into fishing and I noticed a lot of users have been confused about how much money you can make while fishing recently so I thought I would spend a bit of time digging into it.
I spent a lot of time finding players with varying levels of fishing to represent each of the 8 possible ranks of fishing mccmo and had them catch several fish, telling me how much xp they got each time.
In vanilla Minecraft you get 1-6 xp each time you catch a fish. On ECC this is the same at lvl 0 fishing. As your fishing level in creases as does the amount of xp you get/catch.
One thing to note about the list below is that I was unable to find any information about this on any wiki or website anywhere so the only source I have for it is my own testing.
Rank 1 (Levels 0-124): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 xp
Rank 2 (Levels 125-249): 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 xp
Rank 3 (Levels 250-374): 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, or 18 xp
Rank 4 (Levels 375-499): 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, or 18 xp
Rank 5 (Levels 500-624): 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, or 24 xp
Rank 6 (Levels 625-799): 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, or 24 xp
Rank 7 (Levels 800-874): 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 xp
Rank 8 (Levels 875+): 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 xp
Since users at rank 8 get about 10k or so xp per hour of fishing and users at rank 1 only get 2k or so xp per hour it explains the $8k difference that users were getting.
*Xp numbers are with mcmmoplus3 but the ratios stay the same*
*It's also very important that while fishing mobs you have either auto erep or erep with an auto macro as it eats up rods very very quickly*
You can level up fishing mcmmo by either fishing or casting and reeling in mobs. Fishing gives 100/catch at a slower rate than fishing mobs does. At level 0 there is a 15% chance that you will hit a mob with a rod when you reel in. This is known as "Shake chance" in /fishing. Each time you rank up 10% gets added to that chance. This means the higher level you are the faster you rank up when using this method which is unique to it throughout all of mcmmo.
