Anyone can apply for the chance to become a presidential candidate. The current congress will select 2-5 players who will compete in the final democratic election. Spoiler: Foix Congress Appleprocucling SirChilledMrHobo ZevZero Minecraftninja05 As the president of Foix, your job will be to manage the 7 connected towns Foix are made out of. You and your ministers will on your won mange the nation over 5 week period, before a new election will take place. If elected president, you can take with you upto 4 assistants of your choice. One of them would be the Vice President, and the other 3 ministers. There aren't any requirements to apply other than being at least ranked resident. Once elected there are some requirements we expect you to follow. You must be active working on the nation in your period, and we expect you to run the nation with care and best intentions. As the president, you will be required to be based in the Presidential residence for the period in office. The congress has the right to (in extreme cases) override your decision for the nation, and remove you from the position if needed. The job is not paid, but you can expect an ECD bonus if the congress feel you have done a good job. The nation of Foix's vision is to help new and old players, and you apply for presidency because you want to do a good job helping players. National Vault: The nation of Foix has its own national vault. All town related income and expenses are put into the vault, and written down. As president, you get access to the vault and get to use it towards the town. But its expected that the vault increases in value during your presidency. In other words, economical growth. What will you do in your one month period?: I would like to add a town to this nation, and set-up a plan for the swift eviction and demolition of any users inactive for over a month. Why do you want to become Foix next president?: I want to continue what i am currently doing. During my term in foix, i have spent my time constructing new buildings, planning new projects, working on the new foix Hills alongside @appleprocucling and i have also improved foix's population. Finally, I have personally helped to contribute to increasing of Foix's national vault. What will you do in your one month period?: To continue working on completing my original 5-point program. I'm currently working on expanding foix's property market by building new buildings and completing the semi-constructed one. I'll also continue selling property and plots throughout the nation. What can we expect from you?: It is clear that from my term that I havent done as much as i had planned to do. I plan that, if im re-elected, that i can do more. At the moment, I see few plots or apartments, but empty mansions gathering dust. What will you do in your one month period?: I will level empty mansions in Foix, which seem to be impossible to sell (In the region of foixsoutheast, there are 20-30 mansions which are unoccupied, just in one 200x200 region.) What can we expect from you?: I will resurrect Foix and expand the national treasury, by creating more plots & apartments. Who will be your Vice President and ministers (if any)?: I won't have any ministers. My pick for VP is @227_ .
He hasn't been selected for the election yet, so there isn't any point campaigning for him yet. Just a handy note.
The guy who owns a foix mansion is complaining about them ?? Captain campaigning for me won't influence congresses but hopefully my work in foix did. As for your plans hackney, flattening mansions is NOT what foix needs. Plots are primarily aimed at builders and residents. There is currently a lack of builders on the server, making plots less relevant. Flattening mansions to make plots only aims at builders instead of making foix great for all ranks.
Builder/resident plots/apartments are a short-term investment. Mansions, however, are a one-time payoff, as builders/residents often quit, whereas mansion owners rarely do, and when they do, often give their house away or resell it privately. Thus, plots and apts are better for the economy.
So has this turned into a debate thread? I assume it is still for applications, save your bickering for when you are chosen as a candidate.
Also if you want to sell apartments and plots, please keep the mansions in foix southeast. I like mansions around mine.

Alright, time to announce the nominees! @ghostsjack01 You are nominated! You are the current president of Foix, and the best one so far. You spent some time away from the server because if illness and other, but we belive in the work you put into the town, and you are truly dedicated to Foix. @RaginDevonian You are nominated! You are a well known player for both me and the congress. You have high ambitions, something we in Foix like. @Hackney_Builder You are not nominated this time. You have plans for the nation, which is good, but your plans seem to be based on a reality the congress doesn't agree with. Just a quick sum up: -There are 13 mansions in Foix, not 20-30. -The mansions are not empty, 9 of them are currently sold. -The last 2 weeks we have sold mansions for over $400,000 ECD, by far the towns biggest source of income. -To make plots more profitable than mansions, we would need to sell approx 10-15 plots a day - 300 plots a month - 3600 plots a year. In other words, mansions are currently the biggest priority. Since we have sold so many mansions lately, we are actually expanding the mansions area, and it would be a shame if someone demolished it all. The election will start tomorrow (2nd). Ghosts and Ragin can send me a forum pm with a election campaign text that will be posted on the upcoming election page to attract voters. This text should include all plans you have for the nation.
