I feel like these should be limited because several users post them over and over, and they ALL get denied. It feels like the person is just throwing around accusations hoping that something sticks.
Even when the complaint is dismissed, the accused still suffers some damage to their name. Just like IRL when someone is accused of certain crimes - their reputation is tarnished even if they are proven innocent.
I have some options:
1. Make hacking complaints a private thing where only staff see them.
2. Limit how often a person can make invalid hacking complaints. Maybe they have to wait a day or a few days if they file a failed one. Or maybe they can not file a hacking complaint on the same person for a day or a few days.
It just doesn't seem fair that someone can file these against you again and again -- what if 1 time out of 100, unknownrider finally makes a mistake in his decision. You were not guilty 99 times, but finally a false positive turns up.

I agree. Even if you dont hack your reputation is damaged forever. A good example would be Oink_Oink who is a great pvper, but because people post dumb complaints against him everyone thinks he hacks.

I was thinking about suggesting this however I realized that we didn't necessarily want people to stop making hacking complaints, because maybe they will be right about someone at some point. Most complaints are dismissed due to lag.

I agree with idea 1, but they should be made public once proven guilty.

I think we should all just put our big boy pants on and end this witch hunt that's made the forums (as entertaining as it can be) unbearably spammed with unnecessary complaints. Unfortunately, a majority of the ECC population is made up of constantly butthurt little kids, so I suppose this will have to do. +1

I agree that they should be private. There's no reason for anyone other than staff to see them. I wouldn't have a problem with the current system if people actually applied common sense to their videos and only posted them if there was some actual signs of hacking instead of the useless crap we've seen lately.

I agree with kuke's proposal its plausible. After the case is closed the case can then be made public.
Idea 2 is not a good idea because I don't think ignoring evidence is very smart in any case.

I am going to -1 this
Yes I know I have failed numerous times to catch hackers. However if you don't want to read them don't look at them. Simple as that.-
