Zoe is a manager at a local diner. She keeps records of daily purchases by the customers to help predict how much food to purchase each week. Lately, Zoe has been paying special attention to the orders of corned beef. She knows that from Sunday to Saturday, the number of meals per day of corned beef increases. Her problem is that she does not work on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Based on the table below, with Sunday being day 1, predict, to the nearest meal, the number of corned beef dinners needed for Tuesday and Thursday of each week. Use the line of best fit to help predict the number of meals.
a Find the equation for the line of best fit to the nearest tenth.

b Using the equation in part a, find the number of meals needed for Tuesdays.
Answer: meals
c Using the equation in Part a, find the number of meals needed for Thursdays.

You should be able to, using the data, put it into the table in your calculator and solve for the best-fit line using linear regression.
I'd need a chart though to solve it :p I'm pretty sure I know how to get it. -

Do you have, or are you allowed to use, a graphing calculator (like a TI-84)? If you have one of those, let me know and I'll explain it using that.
If not, I don't remember the formula to find the line of best fit, that was a long time ago xP I just know how to on a graphing calculator.
Another option, if you're allowed to, is just to plot the points on a coordinate plane and just estimate a line. Then you can use that. -

@minecraftninja05 If you have a TI-84 calculator or some other graphing calculator, click Stat -> Edit, then put column A as L1 (since Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat are the 1st/2nd/4th/6th/7th days of the week) and put the numbers of beef as L2. Then, you can do Stat -> Calc -> LinReg (ax+b) and it will tell you the a and b in y=ax+b. That's at least how it is on a TI-84, but it may vary for different calculators.
For parts b and c, just substitute 3 and 5 into the equation from a, and that should give an approximate value.

Tbh I'd prefer to use a chi squared distribution to solve this, but it's given as a line of best fit, use the ti84 like the above said. the data has one catagorical variable and one quantitative variable so a chi squared distribution is appropriate.
You can always find the line of best fit by hand if you find s and x-bar. I forget the formula but look up ap stats formula packet and start plugging in!-
