i got the same problem mate ii think its either of these 3 things
1. updating to 1.3 not so likely
2. they couldnt be botherd turining there thingo on to make online work
3. theyre being lazy happend 2 weeks ago or 3 but im not sure on how long it will last

.Force Update your copy of MC and see if that helps
.Uninstall then reinstall your copy of MC see if that helps
.Restart your computer see if that helps
.Try another computer see if that helps
.Back up your files then set your comp. to factory settings see if that helps <--------NOT RECCOMENEDED UNlESSS YOUR DESPERATE
.Smash your computer then get a new one <----- FAIL lol

See if those help.... try not to use the last 2 xD
