This is for a single processor server so that I can run my website off
    • Processor: 3040
    • 1 x 4MB Cache
    • 2GB DDR2 667 ECC RAM
    • Reboot / Remote Console
    • 5000GB Public Bandwidth
    • Free Inbound Bandwidth
    • Free Private Network Bandwidth
    • 1 Public IP Address
    • Wide Choice of Operating System
    Is this worth $119 USD

    Is this better?

Be aware that if you want a machine in a data center you're going to have to pay rent.

I would recommend a VPS/cloud server if you're just going to host a website. I myself use digitalocean cloud hosting for some of my websites/subwebsites, they're fairly cheap and reliable. (I have a 2.3Mhz single core, 1gb ram, 30GB SSD and 2TB traffic.)

There are many other vps/cloud providers out there, though. Just do some research and think of what works best for you.

What I don't get is do you buy the domain seperately or do they give you the option to get one.

If they don't give the option how do you connect the domain to the cloud server

The server has linux operating systems, this is recommended when running a webserver.
You also need to buy a separate domain and link that to your server with your domain registrar (or set the nameservers to digitalocean ones so you can use digitalocean's services)

I would recommend reading up on web hosting, dns, nameservers and the Linux operating systems. It'll be well worth it if you want to do this stuff professionally.

You don't need a linux computer to use a Linux VPS. (unless you're talking about your server)Also, I would recommend ubuntu 12.04 LTS, it's great for people who don't know much about Linux.

So I can just signup and it will work. I don't need any special computer or anything? What do you mean about "unless you talking about your server"
So then can I connect the webhost with MAMP? or do I need linux to run LAMP

The LAMP server runs on the VPS, this doesn't need to be installed on your own computer. All you may need is an SSH client. (Putty for windows, or just typing "ssh <user>@<ip>" in the terminal for mac/linux)
