All Z words submitted to this point have been accepted. There are a total of 7 entries and 6 people in the mini-contest so far.

 

Sadly, that doesn't appear to be a word in the dictionary that I'm using.

Following my prior process I divided the submissions in to two pools, and then each word in the pool was given a number. At no time was the selected judge @icondigi told which word was where. He selected first the pool, then the number within that pool to determine our winner:

Zany.

The winner has already been announced, about 2.5 hours ago... and that is not a valid word with the dictionary being consulted.

 

That could by why, indeed. I am not currently looking for slang terms, there are too many other, proper words to get to first.

A new word of the day has been decided!

Sorry for the wait, been kind of sick and focused on the build contests.

 

That's the closest my dictionary would go, so, that's what we get.

 

New word of the day selected! Bonus points to whomever can tell me where the 'used in a sentence' sentence came from.

 

Took me a while, I know, but between a bout with depression and then a new shift schedule at work a few things fell off the radar. Hopefully this will not be the end of the Word.
