I was browsing around the interwebs today and discovered a minecraft mod that could boost my render distance up like 5x. I thought it was a pretty cool thing but I was wondering if that would be allowed on ECC or if it's even a good idea to install it (I don't want to fry my computer). That mod is highly outdated so I doubt it'd work. As far as ecc is concerned, I think it would be fine.
I may be wrong about this, but optifine can allow you to better control the render distance, but the server only allows a limited range for players to load. I think that is 8. If this is the case, then even with a far sight mod, you may not be able to see that far.
That would be 2 chunks then right? Also, the render distance is different withing SG, but thats not really relevant to this thread
