Minecraft Name:
Altabyte
Suggestion:
I suggest that when you request for a LWC Removal that the mod who removes the LWC should put a new one in your name or make it so no one can take form you Un-LWC'd chest.
Reason:
Recently I have encounterd a problem in which when I Remove an LWC from a chest in my town someone was able to go and take all the stuff out of that chest befor I could get to it. It was a donation chest thats how I knew it had stuff.
Other Information:
None.

I don't think mods can lock stuff in your name. Even if they could i doubt they would, because of the fact that like its your responsibility to be online if you want the stuff.

This isn't likely to change. The point of LWC's isn't to get the items within, rather remove the object that was locked.

@nicit6 I think takes the cake here. The point of unlocking is so that you can remove the things and build whatever you want there.

The goal of LWCing is and always will be to remove the lock to get the object out of the way. What happens with the stuff inside those chests is not the staffs concerns.
What is the difference between opening a chest that is empty and opening a chest that wasn't empty before but is now? Absolutely nothing. It is still presently empty. The staff's jobs are not to ensure your profit. Our job is to remove the lock and I see no reason why that job should change.-

The point of the removal is to remove the object not to get the goodies inside it. -

It has already been suggested here and it was closed. This is just a perk from LWC removals. You're very luck to be able to get the items inside the chest.

Ive already suggested making lwc private. Was told the items in the chest are just a bonus
-
EccHamster BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️No its not hard. But given most things can take 1-7 days to be done many users arent on when a mod removes the lock
-
knears2000 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️LWC's literally take about 20 minutes at the most during peak hours.

Revan, if I could get a definitive statement as to whether using the tp++ donation feature to turn the lwc page into a list of free chests of stuff, that would be great. As I see it, it is an abuse of a donation feature, exploiting the staff to give them free stuff. But if this is perfectly legal, I might turn into one of these vultures myself, seeing as I have lost claim to quite a few good donation chest lwcs. True, the point of LWCs is to remove the locks and build stuff. However, SOMEONE is going to get that stuff, and I think that the mayor of the town has more claim to it than some random tp++ user who is abusing staff actions to get free stuff.
So a definitive decision would be nice.
I also do not mind if staff turns it into a "we delete the chest itself" thing, because then plot prices will equalize. Players were giving builders free plots (to help them start out on the server) with the possibility that they will get the lwc stuff if they go inactive. Without lwcs, plot prices will go back up. Builders will suffer through higher plot prices. Mayors+ (the ruling class) will benefit more from their pain. The only one that wouldn't is the server, due to lower player retention rate.
So please, either protect mayors doing the builders a favor, or throw it completely open free game. -
I recently got 60k worth of items out of a 40x40 area of reclaimed chests (I didnt steal it, it was in my new town :p). When I filed that Lwc, i did expect that much money's worth, but I knew someone would steal it. So, I built a huge 2 high dirt room around it, then broke the dirt away woth an eff5 shovel. It took me 4 extra minuts, and it stopped anyone from stealing. :)

knears2000 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️As per this rule, unlocked chests are fair game:
This rule will never be never be changed. You just have to get to that chest on time. Although it is indeed ethically wrong for those people (especially donors) to do that, you have to live with it. -

Looks like I found a new income stream. You know. Because the rules will never change and all.

The way I understand it, and I do not have it, is that:
When you use the TP++ feature, it should TP the person to the highest non-blocked space. So if you are building a "room" around the LWC'd chests with a modified locked door (for the previous owner of the chest), then no one should be able to get to it via TP++ that isn't staff. If they do, then it would be a donation feature abuse as they are getting into a locked room without permission.
