    This is the biggest change to the economy we have made in quite a few years. It will impact literally everyone in nearly every aspect of the game - so I highly suggest to read up.

    History of Prestige:
    The concept of Prestige was introduced in summer of 2018, just before we reset the server for the first time. The very first Prestige was awarded to EcoLegends. This is where the first /sell bonus came around. It was just 5% bonus at the time.
    In 2018, shortly after the first reset - the concept of Prestige shops was born. A shop where someone with a decent amount of /sell bonus buys items from other players for an amount over /sell hand and sells it themselves for even more money.
    Over the years we have added more Prestiges and more ways to get /sell bonus. We expanded to Magic Items, then Magic Armor, then Mythic Sword bonuses and finally Boosts.

    Prestige in 2026:
    Everyone loves Prestige shops. We get it. Everyone loves being able to sell their items for more than /sell without actually obtaining the required items and account upgrades. However, the ability to market out the /sell bonus as a service or perk to others has had quite a detrimental effect on the economy for several years.
    A user with every Prestige (We have 20 right now) along with a full kit out of Magic Armor, Mythic Sword, Boosts and Magic Items can /sell items for a whopping 103% over sell hand!
    That is a lot of EcoDollars being generated. Far more than is healthy for the economy.
    When a few players are able to generate EcoDollars at top rates off the grind of nearly every other player playing - that causes a massive supply of EcoDollars - it trickles down to everything else.

    It is time we did something about it.
    Now for the juicy details;
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Sell Bonus Conversion -> Double Drop Chance
    We have made MASSIVE changes to how the Prestige and other item bonuses rewards you as a player.
    We have removed quite literally every single sell bonus that was implemented on EcoCityCraft.
    This was any sell bonus granted by Prestiges, Boosts, Magic Armor, Magic Items and Mythic Swords.
    This bonus has now been directly converted to a % chance of double drops instead.

    What this means for you:
    If you have Prestige, Magic Items, Boosted Items, Magic Tools or anything that gave you a bonus on /sell hand before - they now gives you a % chance of a double drops during any activity and with any tool.
    You will no longer earn extra EcoDollars via /sell, you will instead earn extra drops that you can sell for EcoDollars via /sell hand or sell them to other users.
    More drops = more EcoDollars.

    The max achievable Double Drop chance with all Prestiges, Magic Items, Magic Armor, Boosts and Mythic is 103%
    Anything over 100% means you now have a chance of a triple drop!
    103% = 100% chance of double drop, and 3% chance of triple drop!

    This next section goes into detail regarding the changes and how they impact existing Magic Tools/Armor/Boosts.

    Prestige:
    Now offers a 3% chance of double-drops on ALL items per Prestige level.
    • Prestige 1 = 3% chance of double-drops.
    • Prestige 10 = 30% chance of double-drops.
    Magic Tools:
    The following Magic Tools already offered a % chance of double-drops. All other double drop chances will stack with these for the appropriate drops.
    Magic Tool bonuses stack with Prestige, Magic Items, Magic Armor, Mythic Level and Boosted item bonuses.
    • Magic Pickaxe (L3, L3-B3)
    • Magic Melon Sword (L2)
    • Magic Crossbow (L3)
    • Magic Bow (L3)
    • Magic Sword (L2)
    • Magic Rod (L3)
    • Magic Hoe (L3, B1, B2, B3)
    • Magic Shears (L2, L3)
    The following Magic Tools guarantee a specific number of drops. The double drop chances will apply to the yield of these drops.
    • Magic Shears (L1, L2, L3)
    • Magic Pickaxe (L1, L2, L3)
      • Note that the Flux Mode on the L3-B1 pickaxe also stacks double-drop chance with the Magic Item Copper Ingot
    • Magic Brush (L1, L2, L3)
    For the Magic Tools - the double drops will apply to their tool-appropriate drops.

    Magic Armor:
    Magic Armor will offer a % chance of double drops on ALL items when worn in the armor slot.
    Magic Armor bonuses stack with Prestige, Magic Items, Magic Tool and Boosted item bonuses.
    • Magic Armor L1 = Up to 4% double drop chance when all 4 pieces are worn.
    • Magic Armor L2 = Up to 8% double drop chance when all 4 pieces are worn.
    Magic Items:
    All Magic Items will offer a 5% chance of double drops on its respective item when carried in the inventory.
    Magic Item bonuses stack with Prestige, Magic Armor, Magic Tool, Mythic Level and Boosted item bonuses.
    • Example: Magic Item Melon provides a 5% double drop chance on Melons when in inventory.
    Mythic Sword Levels:
    All Mythic Sword levels will offer a % chance of double drops on ALL items when carried in the inventory.
    Mythic Sword level bonuses stack with Prestige, Magic Armor, Magic Tool and Magic Item bonuses.
    • Mythic 1: 5% chance of double drops on all items.
    • Mythic 2: 10% chance of double drops on all items.
    • Mythic 3: 15% chance of double drops on all items.
    Boosted Items:
    All Boosted items will offer a % chance of double drops on its respective item when carried in the inventory.
    Boosted item bonuses stack with Prestige, Magic Armor, Magic Tool, Mythic Level and Magic Item bonuses.
    If a Boosted Item offers additional drops as a Boost perk - that also will be impacted by your double-drop chance. This includes the bonus drops such as Grass Block from Dirt, and Dyes from Boosted flowers!

    • Boost 1: 5% chance of double drops on THAT item + additional boost perks already implemented.
    • Boost 2: 10% chance of double drops on THAT item + additional boost perks already implemented + auto-pickup on THAT item.
    • Boost 3: 15% chance of double drops on THAT item + additional boost perks already implemented.
    That should cover it for how the bonuses will stack and impact the existing tools/items.

    New Command:
    Now with this massive overhaul of the bonuses and the fact it can be quite a lot to wrap your head around.
    We have implemented a brand new command where you can see what % chance of double drops you are getting.

    Use /doubledrops or /dd to view your current double drop chance based on your items, tools and prestige.
    You can use this command on your bare hand for your global bonuses.

    Now there are a few other things we would like to announce with this massive overhaul.

    Taxes:
    Taxes are now officially abolished and we will not be running taxes again. This is effective immediately and you will NOT see taxes taken out with the upcoming world reset on or around the 26th nor any month moving forward.
    Quite honestly taxes were more of a formality and were not doing much to impact the EcoDollar supply as it was as well as having several negative impacts on the economy and general gameplay.

    We look forward to seeing how the economy changes now that you guys are not looking to hide money every month.

    ShopDB Status Update:
    Within the next few days we will be removing ShopDB from all of ECC's services and disabling access to the website.

    There are quite a few reasons for our decisions to do this.
    ShopDB has been quite literally abandoned by its developer - Kozz. Since that time it has slowly degraded in performance, accuracy and quite frankly has become basically unusable.
    We have decided to not continue with ShopDB or a similar service.

    Other than the technical difficulties we have felt it actually has had a detrimental effect on the variety and activity of player markets in general. It made it extremely easy to find the best prices and to squeeze margins or over/undercut people quite easily. Users did not have to advertise their shops, did not have to research their markets and there isn't much effort to build a loyal customer base or engage to build a brand.
    We have already removed all mentions/links to it from in-game interfaces and help files.

    New Prestige Incoming!
    We won't be going into full details now - but we will be adding a new Prestige soon. We're waiting on some development setup for it but it can earned by anyone with no features and no end-game setup! We will have more details later. Stay tuned!

    End Notes - SUPER IMPORTANT
    With everything being said - these are some HUGE changes for the ECC economy and gameplay. We definitely look forward to how you guys will adjust and get used to the new changes.
