If andrew was "taxing" you, you'd be paying a fee to play the game, if you even consider that taxing someone.

I suggest you learn basic English, as well as basic economics when running a server before suggesting something like this.

250 is the "capacity" and if it reaches over that limit only donators can join. The actual limit is 1,000, according to the server status on the MC client.

Yes the server can realistically hold 1000 players before donators can only join, however, the quality of play would be terrible.

Anyway, large amounts of players tend to cause lag, so yeah, lag when the player count is above 250 is believable. The summer of 2013 had 300+ players on at a time, I'm wondering how the quality of play was like back then. You'd know that better than me though.
