If you really want to get mayor you actually need to farm. Try to rent a melon and acquire a silk touch tool (shovel, pick, axe). Then just farm evey hour every day. You can make about 10k+ and hour. If you spend one hour each day you can make mayor in about 10 days. Plus you can make some side cash by mining, doing jobs, and who could forget... VOTE! You get 1k! Trust me follow this, I did the same way. Also, if you get gather more funds by a 45x45 or 50x50 plot and make it a 10+ story melon farm. I got mayor AND president from this. I hope this helped and hope you get mayor! :)

 

I would recommend mining! You get tons of money from selling the goods you get and you get experience which you can use to enchant items to possibly sell for big bucks.

I never have been much of a miner.... And I also never was that great of a lotto guru either... SO I stuck with wheat farming.
My 5 story 30x30 gets me a good 6k per harvest. If you make it auto (worth the money you spend for the Redstone) you can easily and quickly harvest, And my record for harvests in one day was 6! That got me 1/3 of the way to mayor! For me, Farming is the way to go. Its how I plan to get President, as well. Once my Mayor App goes through that is :mrgreen:

 

That takes lots of time to build. AND TIME IS VALUABLE.

Atm I am building a 100x100 melon farm, I can give you cheap access to it if you want :D but I dont have a silk touch for you to use so you have to get one yourself.

 

I farmed Blazes to get mayor selling 50 levels after 50 levels... that doesnt work anymore

 

I recommend Finding a mob spawner in mining world.kill the mobs, Enchant and Sell enchanted item! Repeat at least 15 times and you should get mayor without farming! That is what I am doing now to save up for president!

 

Hey stupid comment----- If you really want it bad get used to farming because plots, portals, etc take alot of money! xD

*Longer but more money method*
Buy a town from a mayor. Yes BUY a town. [I bought 1 for $15k]
Make a Big hole to bedrock in the town [Dig the whole protected area down don't dig the unprotected area]
Make BIG farm [Melon or wheat recommended]
Either farm it or rent it out [Rockdassie rented a 200 x 200 x ?? wheat farm for 1k / hour and if you want to rent for longer you can ask them to pay more but more time]
Sit back and relax just remove and add their permissions according to the time. You can earn quite a lot... and you could do something else to earn even more like mining / fishing / farming
