I am playing on the same pc i always play on. In 1.7.10, ECC worked perfectly fine. Even now, singleplayer runs smoothly with 1.7.10, no optifine installed. 1.8, however, is a totally different story. I can't comfortably play minecraft anymore because of all the lag i receive. It's the stop, go, stop, go lag that I am getting every 2 seconds. I downloaded optifine, but it literally did nothing to help. Let me just run through whats been happening. A few days ago me and my brother could not log onto any minecraft servers. We got our dad to help, and he changed something on the firewall and we could again join servers. About that time, maybe a little before, I could no longer install/download optifine like i'm used to. It would give me one of those winRAR zip file things that are pretty much useless (to me). We updated java, but it still didn't work. I changed a few things and got it to work, then installed optifine. Still, the horrible lag. Whats odd is, though, my laptop runs 1.7.10 & 1.8 perfectly fine, even withought optifine. My desktop, though, runs optifine 1.7.10, regular 1.7.10, but neither 1.8's. It's almost as if my 1.8 is glitched. If you can help me, please reply. If you have no clue what im talking about, I'd appreciate it if you don't try to help . Thanks, miner
1.8 still keeps my 400 fps at most and sometimes dips when in spawn or in the spawn shops my fps is never lower then 250 on the server
It's cool that you guys have no problem, but I sorta need help figuring it out. Should I delete my 1.8 versions file, or even delete Minecraft and try it again?
I would try starting with a fresh install, but how much ram do you have? If you have less than 4 or even 8 then it might be the issue.
So...I am experiencing lag with 1.8, too. Computer shouldn't be that big of a problem, it'S a good one from 2014...and I can't use OF because for some reason that always cuts off the right edge of the letters in chat, making an o to a c, for example. (IF needed, I can post a screenshot for visualisation) Could it be related to the hub software? I didn't think about this, but I have seen many people complaining about hub software causing lag. I have no idea about that, just pointing it out.
Another thing you can do is when the game is open, open task manager and open More Details, then hit the details tab, then scroll down to javaw and right click, set priority, and high.
This has nothing to do with the lag issue. Its 1.8 itself. Minecraft runs different now on this version and you guys need to play with your settings a bit to adjust to it.
I knew that 1.8 itself was a cause, but I just had the idea that it might be what so many people usually complain about concerning hub servers. *Fully blames Minecraft instead of multiple causes*
Disable Vsync change fps to unlimited view distance to 5-10, bobbing off, graphics fast... The fps level varies http://ioqj.com/images/lag-settings.jpg went from 20 fps to 58-60 fps and very little or no lag http://ioqj.com/images/lag-fps.jpg this should give u less lag
Top Issues I've Observed: 1. Not Enough Ram 2. Internet Connection usage (I.e Too much Bandwidth being used across lan due to multiple devices) 3. Slow Internet Plan 4. Old Router 5. Hard Disk space running low 6. Too far from wifi router 7. Too many processes running And my personal most common issue 8. my battery level low on my laptop Hope this helps
Sorry guys, honestly didnt even see this thread was still open xD I figured out the problem a few days after I posted this. I had my max FPS setting on VSync. Once I set it to unlimited i got around 200 fps xD
