I will explain why people may not be so keen. If we give you money and you loan it out, there is not guarantee that we will see our money returned. If the person you loan it to scams you and never returns, our money is lost. We need some sort of assurance that our money will be safe, we need to know that in the worst case, that you will be able to refund us. As well as this, months are a very long time in this game, and when people may only stay a year or two in the game, perhaps even less, one month to earn 1% is very little and simply not worth the hassle.

I like to see that you are using your initiative and finding ways to make money that others may not have thought of, but when developing a business you need to make your customers feel that they are at no risk.

 

I don't want to do this because of the risk. However, your intrest rate is incredible. 1% compounding weekly for a year based on the numbers you gave would mean a 67% APR. (1.01)^52=1.67.

I think this is a great initiative, however I think you have to rank a little higher to make your bank work. I do like the idea and I am not affraid to invest some of my savings to a nice initiative like this. So I will start with a deposit of $5,000.- to see how this works.

And I hope that people will follow my lead.

And as a bonus: just to let you know 1% a week is not the same as 4% a month (it is actually 4.06% which is even better of course see spoiler)

500$*1.04= 520$ , 500$*1.01*1.01*1.01*1.01=520.30$ so 520.30/520=1.0406 which is 4.06%

.06% doesn't look much but with 1 mil. that is a whopping extra 600$ a month :p.
