    I was thinking about make an obstacle course in my town and have a competition who can do it the fastest and with out dying, entering costs so much per try, and winner each week get a large prize.(maybe stack of diamonds or larger)

    i could also have different difficulties... Is this something that would be a good idea?

    there would be rules also

    Use dispensers on a redstone loop/clock with water in them pushing you into a pit of water whenever they release the water
