Obsidian. I have the exact opposite issue. It seems like I farm everyday and due to everyone else farming, there is never much to farm. I am hurt that you state "no one comes", yet I see you like every other night or so. Last week I started to fill everything in to expand it, and I plan to help raise it higher in the coming weeks.

Ryan. As far as the non-residents using the trainers: Partly my fault. I was trying to get interest in the town to get more residents. I did see the few people I "let" use the trainers paid you for the perms (I was sugar farming that night when they paid you), but I will immediately stop promoting it out. Sorry if I crossed a line.

I also have a few questions, mainly due to my ignorance.

The clay monsters. Are these just areas for us to place clay blocks and break them up and then replace? Why are they so tall? Were they gravel monsters before and you just changed the name so they would have a purpose?

The carrot/potato farms: Currently there really isn't too much going on here. If I were to plant them and people harvest, is it a requirement that they replant? Or should I harvest it all myself before I leave each night? No offense, I just want to know what will happen if I plant a bunch of stuff. I have no problem helping out, I just don;t want me to plant it out one day, come back, and everything be gone the next.

Last thing. If someone could place enderchests (locked public) on the first floor of each farm, and mail me the cost, I will pay them first chance. I think it would be nice to have a public enderchest at each farm

It's good to hear feedback from our users at the farms. Let me talk about your concerns. First, yes, it is across the line to let users use the town without perms. Ryan and I spent three, four months building the town out of Empty Ocean by ourselves. It was a long and hard task that now, we would like to make back our investment in time. The perms by design are dirt cheap, and I donate all my income off the farms to charity anyhow, so it would be nice if people just paid for the very cheap perms. And if they want to know their money is heading off to charity, buy the perms through me.

Second, yes, the clay monsters were supposed to be gravel monsters, but gravel died a lagging death, so we just made them clay monsters.

Third, I take responsibility for this. I am supposed to be looking after the farms and I know the carrot, wheat, and potato farms are almost always empty. This is not right, and I wish users would re-plant the crops after harvest. That being said, I am supposed to be making sure the farms are re-planted, but real life has started throwing a lot of stuff at me and I'm using all my ECC time maintaining my moderator status and working on my future ECC home. I will try to get back to watching the farms and keeping track of them better, but I am sure you can understand why I just don't have the time for that a lot now. I will try to find a way to make sure users re-plant too.


Fourth, love the ender chest idea! I will be building the ender chest system hopefully tomorrow.

I was the first member when it was still 2 weeks, now it's forever and there is too many people... :(

 

^ I agree on too many people. How about one night we have a little Atlanta party and everyone helps build the farms up.
