1. @OmmgItzBatman, I've added you to the exempt list with an expiration date of January 15th.
2. @weareman warned us awhile ago that he would be inactive for a bit. So those of us who were wondering where he's been (especially me) should have read our own inactive exempt list.

And a note on the list: the longer a player has played on ECC, and the more time and effort they've put into Lancaster, the more liberally I interpret the list. So, for example, a player who signs up and is all enthusiastic the first night, then never reappears, will often be removed after 14 days. On the other hand, in spite of the fact that @HowlerMoon hasn't made contact in six weeks, it took until the other day for me to remove her from one of her six presently unused plots. Certain other residents are long-time players of ECC who have returned to the server and only play every now and then. My primary motivation in inactivity removals is not the money I get from re-selling a plot -- for example, I just gave one previously inactive player a free condo as a welcome-back present. My primary motivation is to keep the town active.

I've started to add expiration dates to the exempt list, because I just don't want plots to become eternally dead because a player who thought they would be coming back doesn't. So from now on, the first request will get an average player 30 days on the list, with as many extensions as you keep in touch for.

On the other hand, a player like @eyesee3, @voltair42 or @gstoner3, with all the time and effort they've put in? It would take six months of inactivity for me to remove any of them.

Been a little cranky with players tonight ... decided to go build something in Lilydale for fun. Got a little carried away ... just saying. You guys might want to go visit @Samiwarbler next time you're in Lancaster.

 

Incidentally, @RyanJayOlson is banned from all Lancaster towns. He had already, before yesterday, shown an unhealthy fascination with getting into my vault. I asked him to stop on a previous occasion, then ordered him out after he ignored me. Yesterday, I found him in my vault methodically checking for unlocked chests. I informed him that he was banned from Southcaster. Five minutes later, after I had added locked doors to two hidden entrances (the only way in or out without /tp), I found him inside the vault again, demonstrating that even after repeated requests to leave, he has a /home set inside my vault. Not only is he not apologetic for any of this, he repeatedly joked about it, and described all of the above as simply indicative of how "awesome" he is. This is clearly some strange new definition of awesome with which I am unfamiliar.

I have to keep the game enjoyable in our towns for everyone, including me. Disruptive players like @RyanJayOlson who repeatedly violate Section 2, Clause 3 (Harassment) just ruin the game for others. In this case, this player seems not even to comprehend that, so he'll be happier playing somewhere else. If he is seen in any Lancaster town, please take a screenshot and forward it to me by forum pm, and I will file a formal user complaint. He has been directly informed by me and by a moderator that he is not to be there, and I intend to enforce that.

 

The 20x20 that was occupied by @HowlerMoon's unfinished tavern has been resold to another player. It's simply been inactive too long. As you did buy that plot for her, we could discuss some sort of compensation for you when you're back on the server -- which we all hope is soon. :)

Houston, we have a problem.

Specifically, the server isn't going to approve any more town chat channels. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if there were soon to be an announcement about existing town chat channels. So we're not getting a town chat channel.

The problem is that I have $40,000 that I've been carrying in my balance for two weeks for this thing, and none of that money is mine. I believe it consists entirely of contributions from @voltair42, @gstoner3 and either @LimeCini or @Samiwarbler (I forget which one the last $5,000 was from). So ... what do you guys think I should do with it? I'll happily give it back, or spend it on something else for the town. What I will not do is just keep it for myself, because that would be [word not allowed on this server].

Your thoughts?
